🍂 **The History Behind Our Holiday** 🦃

Did you know? While we often think of Pilgrims when we hear “Thanksgiving,” the holiday we celebrate today has deeper roots in American history.

In **1789**, George Washington issued the first Thanksgiving Proclamation, establishing the tradition of celebrating on the last Thursday of November. Though it wouldn’t become an official federal holiday until **Abraham Lincoln’s proclamation in 1863**, Washington’s vision sparked nearly a century of advocacy that eventually made Thanksgiving the cherished national holiday we know today.

This Thanksgiving, as we gather with loved ones, we’re not just continuing a tradition—we’re part of a story that’s been unfolding for over 230 years. 🇺🇸
