AGBU AYA San Fernando Valley Scouts

AGBU AYA San Fernando Valley Scouts AGBU-AYA San Fernando Valley Chapter Scouts was founded in 1984 by a group of young and dedicated scouts from around the world.

Since then, it has grown exponentially but it still holds its original core values. Those values are leadership, community service and readiness. Though we are officially a group of the Boy Scouts of America, our chapter is independently chartered and is focused on Armenian Scouting. A division of the Armenian Youth Association of AGBU, our scouting group helps instill these important values in th

e Armenian youth. As a scout grows in our troop, they learn and experience so much that will help them become strong leaders. Our scouting troop helps educate the youth on Armenian culture, history, and language. We also strive to give back to our surrounding community as well as Armenian communities around the world. We do this by holding donation drives and our service projects. In order for a scout to achieve the highest rank of Eagle Scout, they must complete a service project that they must plan and execute on their own. This service project not only greatly helps the community, it is also a true test of the leadership skills the scout has learned throughout the years. We hold annual summer camps which are a week in length and where the scouts learn skills like knot-tying, fire building, pioneering, and so much more! Being in our scouting group will also give you a lifelong family that will always be there to help.

Part 2 - Summer Camp Day 4 was full of adventure! 🏕️ We welcomed our Wolves to camp!
Our Cubs took on an egg drop challenge and practiced fun skits! 🥚🎭 The Boy Scouts worked on badges, while the Girl Scouts completed merit badges, worked on the gyme, tackled a survival challenge, and both the girls and boys reviewed their Totin' Chip. 🪓👏 Everyone gathered to review Armenian songs! 🎶We played a fun group game of Crocodile River that had everyone working together and having a blast! 🐊🌊 The girls also made delicious s'mores bars that everyone enjoyed during our campfire! 🍫🔥

Part 1 - Summer Camp Day 4 was full of adventure! 🏕️ We welcomed our Wolves to camp!
Our Cubs took on an egg drop challenge and practiced fun skits! 🥚🎭 The Boy Scouts worked on badges, while the Girl Scouts completed merit badges, worked on the gyme, tackled a survival challenge, and both the girls and boys reviewed their Totin' Chip. 🪓👏 We played a fun group game of Crocodile River that had everyone working together and having a blast! 🐊🌊 The girls also made delicious s'mores bars that everyone enjoyed during our campfire! 🍫🔥

Part 2 - Summer Camp Day 3 was one to remember! ☀️🏕️
The scouts enjoyed a fun day at the pool with badge work and a fun group game: bucket transfer challenge! 💦 Cubs worked on advancements, origami, and friendship bracelets, while our Girl and Boy Scouts continued earning merit badges. Our older scouts also worked on the gyme and the first section officially went up! The older scouts also played a game called Bahag by Daylight created by our amazing leaders! 👏🎉 We also came together for our mante-making tradition before ending the day!
A huge thank you to the Gasparyan, Adjemian, and Alajajyan families for sponsoring our delicious mante night! ❤️

Part 1 - Summer Camp Day 3 was one to remember! ☀️🏕️
The scouts enjoyed a fun day at the pool with badge work and a fun group game: bucket transfer challenge! 💦 Cubs worked on advancements, origami, and friendship bracelets, while our Girl and Boy Scouts continued earning merit badges. Summer Camp Day 1 is in the books! 🥳🏕️ We arrived at Camp Tecuya, got settled into our campsite, and the scouts worked together to set up their tents! 💪⛺ Patrols jumped right into building gadgets and preparing for an exciting week ahead. We started off our group games by making creative posters and chants! We wrapped up the day around the campfire, singing songs and making memories together! 🔥🪵 Here's to an amazing week at camp! 🤩

Congratulations to K. Leah on completing her Eagle Scout project! 🎉 She revitalized a community space by replacing old planters with new ones, fresh soil, and plants to create a welcoming environment for everyone to enjoy. 🌱🌼 She also created educational booklets to teach children about the different plants and how to care for them, helping inspire the next generation to appreciate and protect nature. On July 12th, Y. Anthony successfully completed his Eagle Scout Project at Saint Peter Armenian Apostolic Church! 🥳🦅 His project focused on renovating the church’s backstage area by clearing out unused items, installing new shelving units, and cleaning the space to make it more organized and accessible for future performances. 🎭🛠️ A big thank you to everyone who came out and supported Y. Part 2 - On June 28th, Y. Alexander successfully completed his Eagle Scout Project at Pet Orphans of Southern California! 🥳🦅 His project included repainting doors and fences throughout the shelter and filling a hazardous hole with concrete to create a safer environment for the animals. 🐶🎨🛠️ A big thank you to everyone who came out and supported Y. Alexander on his journey to Eagle Rank! 🙌✨
