Established in 1985, Women in Music is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization committed to advancing equality, visibility and opportunities for women in the musical arts through education, support, empowerment and recognition. Established in 2017, Women in Music LA is a chapter of WIM that is dedicated to fostering equality in the music industry through the support and advancement of women.

Next weekend, April 13th, WIM LA returns to legendary studio The Village Recorders for the third annual installment of Shop Talk! This is an opportunity for women creators and those involved with creators to learn from top industry professionals including the women engineers from The Village staff about working and recording in a studio, the technical basics of audio recording, and the terminology of the control room. WIM LA's annual Sync Critique is back- this year with a focus on Latin Music and culture! The perfect film, TV, or advertising sync placement can change the course of an artist’s career. It can even revitalize a once forgotten hit song. As more Latinx content is being created- in response to growing market demand- we will examine how creatives can make the most of the growing opportunities in this market.
