California's first official Dolly Parton Day lands on Friday, and West Hollywood's gay bars are treating it like Pride: a Dolly edition drag show, a 9 to 5 screening, Tennessee Teas and a Dolly photo booth.

Gavin Newsom signed the holiday into law on Sunday, less than a month after Dolly died at 80. Fans picked the date: 9/25, for "9 to 5."

At Micky's, the drag show Cirque du So Gay is going all Dolly, with every queen performing to one of her songs. Schmitty's wants everyone in country western looks, and the V W**e Room will play her hits alongside clips from her films.

The GYM Bar is screening 9 to 5 itself. The 1980 comedy was directed by Colin Higgins, a gay filmmaker who went on to direct her again in The Best Little Wh******se in Texas.

She always knew who was in the front row. "I have a huge gay following, and I'm proud of them," she told the New York Times in 2016. "Sometimes some of them look more like me than I do."

Still in shock and remembering Dolly Parton, a true icon and a legend who showed the LGBTQ community what unwavering allyship looks like. Dolly didn’t wait for it to be safe or popular to stand up for us. For generations, through her music, heart and humor, her message was always clear: “You should be comfortable in being who you are and people should leave you alone to be who you are.”

HRC Los Angeles is proud to join Human Rights Campaign in turning our grief into purpose. The best way we can honor her legacy is to live authentically, fight for what is right, and love each other boldly.

We will always love you Dolly. ❤️🌈🕊️
