We could not be prouder to celebrate North Hollywood Interfaith Food Pantry Board Chair Jane Poole, recipient of the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank’s 2026 Tony Collier Award.
Named in honor of Los Angeles Regional Food Bank founder Tony Collier, the award recognizes an individual whose extraordinary service has made a meaningful difference in the fight against hunger. Collier began the Food Bank’s work in Pasadena in 1973, collecting donated food in his truck and delivering it to local organizations serving people in need. Today, his legacy lives on through an award that honors community members who demonstrate that same commitment to ensuring their neighbors have access to food, dignity, and support.
For more than 20 years, Jane has embodied that commitment right here in North Hollywood. Her dedication to the Pantry and the people we serve has touched countless lives, and her leadership, compassion, and willingness to roll up her sleeves and do whatever needs to be done have helped make NHIFP the organization it is today.
Jane’s work has never simply been about providing groceries. It has been about seeing people, listening to them, treating them with dignity, and building a community in which neighbors take care of neighbors. Those values are at the heart of NHIFP and make this recognition especially meaningful.
The Tony Collier Award has honored dedicated hunger-relief leaders from organizations throughout Los Angeles County, making Jane’s selection a wonderful recognition not only of her decades of service, but also of the work our entire Pantry community does together.
Jane received the award at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank’s All Agencies Conference on August 24th. We are incredibly proud to see her extraordinary commitment recognized and grateful for the more than two decades she has devoted to fighting hunger in our community.
Congratulations, Jane. This honor could not be more deserved.
