NLGJA is committed to fostering fair and accurate coverage of LGBT issues. We are a national organization of journalists, media professionals, educators and students working toward the professional development of our members. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., NLGJA was founded in 1990 and is led by a board of directors and chapter leaders across the country. The Los Angeles Chapter:

We are excited to announce the nominees for this year’s Critiquing With Pride Award for Excellence in Arts & Entertainment Reporting, presented in partnership with !

This new award honors a Southern California-based arts & entertainment journalist whose body of work has helped foster important dialogue on LGBTQ+ representation in media and applies a nuanced, q***r lens to film and television criticism. The award winner will be announced this Saturday at our Press Pride Prom award showcase and benefit.

This award honors a single story or series by a SoCal-based journalist that demonstrates care, skill and a commitment to fair and accurate reporting of LGBTQ+ themes, issues and people. It will be presented at our Press Pride Prom benefit and award show on Saturday, May 9th, at the LA LGBT Center. Tickets are still on sale, link in bio for more.
