Thank you, ! đź’›

Your generous grant is going directly to pediatric cancer patients and their siblings. When a child is diagnosed with cancer, the entire family is affected, which is why we make it a priority to support not only the patient, but their brothers and sisters as well. đź’Ż percent of your grant is directly for these kids.

Vistas for Children is an incredible group of women dedicated to improving the lives of children throughout the South Bay, and we are so grateful for your generosity and continued support of our mission.

Because of you, we’ll be able to bring smiles, comfort, and meaningful support to families facing childhood cancer. We cannot wait to share the impact you have helped make possible.

For those who may not know, Vistas for Children provides grants to local nonprofit organizations serving children who are visually impaired, have autism or disabilities, are experiencing food insecurity or homelessness, are impacted by trauma, crisis, or domestic violence, have a parent diagnosed with cancer, are in foster care, are underserved or at-risk, or are receiving treatment in a care facility.

Thank you for believing in these children and the organizations that serve them. đź’›

Last week we said goodbye to a very important person to us.

Yolandi was a dear friend and collaborator.

We simply could not have started this charity without her. She was the first person we called as we began to form Luna Peak, and she quickly got us up and running with our logo and designs, and signed on to design the book and cover for our first book, Beyond Remission.

From there, she designed the workbooks Kicking Cancer, The Grief Workbook, My History of the Covid Pandemic, and also the “Beyond” series covers for Beyond Grief and Beyond Me.

Yolandi also bravely stepped forward to be a participant and storyteller in Beyond Grief, sharing her own grief story and insights from losing her best friend. Her reflections on grief have been helping hundreds of grievers feel seen and to heal across the years already. We are so thankful that she trusted us with her story, and so proud that she is such a big part of the Beyond Grief book.

Yo was one of a kind. She was so effortlessly talented and cool, so fun to work with, and she always had such an amazing attitude. We admired her sass, and how hilarious and sweet she was.

We are so beyond lucky to have crossed paths with her. We are thankful to have collaborated with her. We are thankful for her story and insights which live on and will continue to inspire the cancer and grief communities.

She is forever in our hearts and forever a part of our Luna Peak story too. We miss her so much already.

Thank you, Yolandi. We love you.

100 Sean’s Best Week at Camp Luna Peak books were donated to the Pasadena Ronald McDonald House today ❤️🧡💚💙

Sean’s Best Week at Camp Luna Peak is Melody’s children’s book about finding friendship during cancer treatment. Melody wrote this book in memory of her cancer treatment friend Sean, and her experiences attending camp for kids with cancer. This book was also illustrated by Gracie Eastridge, another childhood cancer survivor and another previous camper!

It was an especially meaningful give back to our local Ronald McDonald House with these books. We are inspired by this beautiful home away from home that hosts families and patients in the San Gabriel Valley.

We are still inspired after visiting Sycamores El Nido program in Altadena. We donated 35 books for their program, and toured their beautiful campus. We are honored to support such an impactful organization. Thank you Susan and Andi and Sycamores-Hathaway!

I'm truly humbled to be named Woman of the Year at the 40th Annual Woman of the Year Celebration, held during the LA County commission on women’s 50th anniversary year. This moment highlights the power of perseverance and hope. The theme “Moving Forward Together” reminds us that our progress is built on the foundation laid by those who came before us and will pave the way for future generations. I'm grateful for this recognition of my work with Luna Peak Foundation, supporting cancer patients and creating resources for the community. Thank you to all who've supported this journey. 💜

We are thrilled to launch this 3rd book in our Luna Peak “Beyond” series: “Beyond Me: A Fun Workbook to Stay Present for the End”!

“Beyond Remission” told 100 cancer survivor stories, Beyond Grief told 80 grief survivor stories, and now Beyond Me allows you to tell YOUR life story.

The presale is live on our publishing website and all presale buyers will be invited to a special free and virtual workshop using this workbook: www.lunapeakpublishing.com/shop

This workbook is a lighthearted way to get comfortable with death positivity and brainstorm end of life planning. “Beyond Me” includes a mix of reflective prompts, memory sharing, and games. This approachable workbook can be used in correlation with legal documents and official end of life planning.
