As we prepare to fight back against the proposed cuts to the Black Student Achievement Plan (BSAP), check out this article featuring leader Makeda (rising senior at Dorsey High School) and Christian Flagg ( ) sharing why BSAP matters. 📣

Through BSAP, Makeda connected with college prep opportunities, visited UC Berkeley and Stanford, and received support from counselors, psychologists, and social workers.

“They’re saying that a program that’s meant to help Black students and other students of color is discriminatory. We’ve been discriminated against in school systems basically our entire lives.”- Makeda

Join us in celebrating the graduating class of 2026! ✊🏿❤️✊🏾

Thank you to everyone who joined us last Sunday as we made space to reflect, laugh & celebrate one another 🫂

This marked our biggest graduating class with almost 150 seniors from our nearly 30 LAUSD chapters - young people who helped organize to protect BSAP, win investments for undocumented students, expand LGBTQ+ supports, and push LAUSD toward real safety beyond policing. 📣 We love and appreciate you all!

Thank you to our speakers .dct3, & our Black parent leaders for making it special.

🚨 LAUSD is proposing massive cuts to BSAP! 🚨

LAUSD announced $150 million in proposed cuts to BSAP from a budget of ⬆️ $175 million in 2025-26 school year to a proposed ⬇️ $25million 2027-28 school year. 🚨If these cuts move forward, it would result in hundreds of layoffs of BSAP Staff and the end of many programs and services for Black students and other underserved students. 🚨

📣 We are hosting an emergency meeting and we invite current LAUSD students, educators, parents to join us to learn what’s at stake and how we’re fighting back! ✊🏿❤️✊🏾

📣 5/12 Public Comment Recap! ✊🏿❤️✊🏾

Last week, and , alongside the Coalition, showed up powerfully at the LAUSD School Board meeting to demand protections for BSAP, Dream Centers, and mental health support staff. ⚡️

As the district finalizes its 2026–2027 budget, students are continuing to push for investments that actually keep them safe and supported— NOT budget cuts to critical resources. ❌👮🏽‍♂️❌

Safe schools come from investing in students and their communities NOT from policing them. 💛 Young people deserve schools rooted in care, support, healing, and opportunity. ✊🏿❤️✊🏾

As cuts happen across California and public education continues to be under attack, students and organizers are fighting for investments to be made in mental health services, community schools, counselors, housing, after school programs, and community-based support NOT systems that criminalize and push students out. 🗣️

Our message is clear: Pol(ICE) do not belong in schools. ❌🧊👮🏽‍♂️❌

✊🏿✊🏾 In solidarity with organizers statewide working to end the school-to-prison pipeline and build truly safe schools for every young person. ⚡️

We joined & so many others today for a Care First Rally & Resource Fair! ✊🏿❤️✊🏾

📣 We showed up to demand our County Board of Supervisors invest in what actually keeps our communities strong: housing, healthcare, mental health support, youth programs, and community-based care.

Lead Organizer Araya shared: “If we want more kids to make it to graduation, we need to put care FIRST, jails never.”

⚡️As LA County faces a budget crisis caused by decades of harm within the probation system, we’re continuing to fight for investments in youth NOT incarceration. 🗣️🗣️🗣️
