We are a non profit, no kill animal rescue organization that specializes in saving black cats and kittens from euthanasia by pulling them out of the shelters, fostering them and finding adoptive families to give them a forever home. We also provide holistic services as a supplement to traditional veterinary care to the cats that we rescue and to cats in the care of other rescue organizations in ou

r area. Some of the holistic services that we provide include: reiki, feline aromatherapy, bach flower remedies, hypoallergenic, grain free meals, all natural litter and chemical free, natural remedies.

Hi everyone,
Julia is having her spay day at CAMP LA in the East Valley/Van Nuys on Monday YAY! She has a ride there, but needs someone to pick her up and take her back to her foster home in MdR when she is ready to go.

We don't know what time that will be, but it is usually between 1 - 4 pm. Can you help?

Betty escaped her foster home near 9th Street and Broadway in DTLA!

If you see a new black cat at your feeding station or in your TNR locations please get her inside, in a carrier or trap and contact us immediately.

If you live near 9th and Broadway or near 846 S Broadway and see her, please get her inside in a bathroom and contact us immediately.

She does not know this area. She's lost and we need to get her back inside her foster home!

Brigid , her siblings and her mom were all rescued last year after their mom survived Hurricane Helene September 27, 2024.

Please always remember that snap/combo tests can show false positives. Squiggles has had three combo tests for FIV/FeLV.

On June 25, the first test showed a positive result for FeLV.

On July 19, he tested negative for FeLV.

And today, August 17, he tested negative again for FeLV.

Because FeLV is very contagious, we sent his blood off for a PCR test just to be 100% sure 💜

Did you know that there is an FeLV vaccination that is 80 - 93% effective?

Ask your vet about getting it for your cat, especially if you want to help other cats with FeLV or potential exposure to FeLV or cats who have false positive FeLV test results like Squiggles.

Our mission began in 1997 when we rescued our first black kitten. We named her after the most beautiful Egyptian Goddess, Bastet, Goddess and Protectress of All Cats, Families, Women and Children. She shone a light on the discrimination and hatefulness the general public harbored against black cats. After many years of independent rescue, we formally became a 501c3 in 2016. Believe it or not, the discrimination and hate persisted and still does today. Black cats are still the least adopted, most euthanized, most abused and most abandoned of all fur colors. 

Why?

We were recently interviewed for an article that was published on Adopt A Pet that breaks down the reasons for the discrimination and hate black cats face in this country. It is a must read if you would like to join us on our mission to educate others about the obstacles black cats face in the United States. It takes a village to change people’s hearts and minds.

Meet Miss Julia!! This playful, curious, confident kitten is full of energy and loves to turn every day into an adventure. She's also incredibly friendly and affectionate, happily seeking out pets, cuddles, and quality time with her people. Having been rescued from a high-kill shelter, she's now thriving in foster care and is ready for the happy ending she deserves.

Bonnie & Cleo were rescued from a high kill shelter with a euthanasia rate of 93%. We're certain that they would no longer exist on this Earth if it weren't for their foster mom offering to open her heart and her home to them.

It's time for their next chapter in their story. The one that has a happily ever after fairytale ending 💜

Lucas & Miller are both paralyzed and they share the same foster mom 💜 she caters to their every need. They need their bladders expressed and physical therapy exercises and special accommodations .

We rescued Lucas after he was shot by a BB gun as he slept on the front lawn of his caretakers house. Miller was rescued after suffering abuse and neglect as a kitten. Both incidents cause of paralysis.

Their foster mom, Yasmin, also takes care of other cats in need. She is a true angel.
