The Vietnamese Student Union at UCLA presents: Vietnamese Culture Night. Like our page to get important updates on our show!
We, the Vietnamese Student Union (VSU) at UCLA, cordially invite your organization to be part of our annual Vietnamese Culture Night (VCN) on January 19, 2015 at UCLA’s Royce Hall. In its 35th year, Vietnamese Culture Night has become one of the most anticipated events on campus, bringing together over 1,800 students, faculty, staff, family members and the off-campus Vietnamese American community
every year. Culture night is a show produced by 200 students with a program cost just under $34,000, most of which goes to the cost of facilities. This year, we are faced with a great obstacle because the cost of our venue has increased drastically. Historically, we have used Royce Hall, a prestigious building on our campus, to meet the scale of our production and the purpose of the show. Unfortunately, rental fees have increased, taxing a lot of the student organizations. We are looking for sponsors to be an integral part in funding to support such an important educational and cultural event. We would appreciate any support that you can offer, whether a monetary contribution to help pay for the facility, props, costumes or a donation of food to keep our team, cast, and crew healthy and nourished during the long hours of rehearsal. In return, we will gladly thank you with a section or advertisement in our program, which is given to over 1,200 attendees. We will also provide you with complimentary tickets to the show. If you would like to contribute to this year’s Vietnamese Culture Night, please send a confirmation email to [email protected] so that we may discuss more details. Once again, VCN is January 19, 2015, from 6pm-10pm. If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to ask via email. Thank you for your time and we look forward to hearing from you. Respectfully,
Vietnamese Student Union & Vietnamese Culture Night Staff at UCLA
With that, UCLA VCN 45 is signing off! Thank you to every single person who helped bring our story to life 🫶 Our love for our cast, our supporters in the audience, and our show will go very, very far.
Until next year,
VCN 45

Thank to to Tuyết Y, Thủy Vân Dance Company, Áo Dài by Cute Sass, Xuân Loan Fabrics, TH Fashion, Thái Bridal & Florist, SpringLuc on Etsy, and Moon Fashion for helping us showcase our Vietnamese roots through VCN 45's costumes! We are eternally grateful for the opportunity to share our culture through such beautiful clothing 💃
Ao Dai by CuteSass () was generous enough to lend many of our actors’ beautiful traditional-style outfits again this year!
Ao Dai by CuteSass is inspired by our Vietnamese culture and traditional clothing, aiming to show that Áo Dài is more than just a traditional garment: As a Vietnamese symbol that embodies beauty, grace, and femininity, Ao Dai by CuteSass aims to shows that Áo Dài can be worn as a modern-day attire, combining elements of Vietnamese heritage with modern styles for an elegant look with a sense of energy and movement.
As a Vietnamese American, the founder of Ao Dai by CuteSass wants to honor her culture by making Áo Dài more accessible for Vietnamese people overseas of all ages, with a commitment to size inclusivity throughout its options. Furthermore, recognizing the significance of family bonds, Ao Dai by CuteSass presents design options for entire families to harmonize their attire, creating a visual symphony that celebrates unity and tradition.

We'd like to give a special thanks to our Official VCN 45 Emerald sponsor: the UCLA Center for Southeast Asian Studies ✍️
Founded in 1999, the UCLA Center for Southeast Asian Studies (CSEAS) was established to expand teaching on Southeast Asia for the growing population of Asian and Asian American students in Southern California. CSEAS has since benefited from substantial institutional, private and community support for Southeast Asian studies on campus. CSEAS continues to spearhead new initiatives to strengthen the field on campus through library support, academic programs, teacher training and community outreach. To make a gift to support the center, visit www.giving.ucla.edu/southeast.

We'd also like to thank some of our corporate sponsors: Lisa Doan Realtor, Alex Auto Repair, Chấm Dipping Sauce, and Thủy Vân Dance Company! It would not have been possible to bring our story to Royce Hall without your generous support 📖

Over the past thirty-nine years, the Vietnamese Student Union at the University of California, Los Angeles has grown to be one of the largest and most prominent organizations in Southern California. In attempts to foster a greater understanding towards the unique Vietnamese American experience, we enhance our own appreciation of the culture through the medium of theater and performing arts. Thus, the Vietnamese Student Union is proud to present our 39th Annual Vietnamese Culture Night (VCN) to the UCLA community and beyond. VCN is one of our most anticipated and biggest events of the year, set to grace the stage on Monday, January 21, 2019 from 6-10PM, at the prestigious Royce Hall Auditorium on the UCLA campus.
The 39th Annual Vietnamese Culture Night is open to a community of well over 1,800 undergraduate and graduate students, UCLA alumni, family members, and community members free of charge. We aim to foster a sense of appreciation for the unique Vietnamese culture through traditional song and dance, modern/hip hop movement, and distinctive storytelling.
However, as the university suffers from large budget cuts for the programs of outreach and education, it has become increasingly necessary for us to call upon the benevolent assistance of our community and those who support cultural enrichment through the arts. Limited financial resources are preventing us from reaching our goals in the production of this show, and the support of our community will greatly aid in the success of this program. Support can be shown through donations by placing an advertisement in our event program or through any other contribution. https://www.gofundme.com/ucla-vcn-2019
With our show date rapidly approaching, the cast and crew of VCN 2019 are working diligently to ensure that the production is a success. We hope that you will assist us in our continuing efforts to promote awareness of the Vietnamese American culture on and beyond the UCLA campus, and we would like to express our sincerest gratitude and appreciation for your support.
Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Vietnamese Student Union & Vietnamese Culture Night Staff at UCLA
