Established on December 14, 1940, we are the Greater Los Angeles Beta Psi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated.

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. develops leaders, promotes brotherhood and academic excellence, while providing service and advocacy for our communities. The aims of the Fraternity are Manly Deeds, Scholarship, and Love for All Mankind. Alpha Phi Alpha is the first intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity established for African-Americans. aternity, Inc. has supplied voice and vision to the struggle of African-Americans and people of color around the world. Alpha Phi Alpha has long stood at the forefront of the African-American community's fight for civil rights through leaders such as: W.E.B. DuBois, Adam Clayton Powell, Jr., Edward Brooke, Martin Luther King, Jr., Thurgood Marshall, Andrew Young, William Gray, Paul Robeson, and many others. True to its form as the “first of firsts,” Alpha Phi Alpha has been interracial since 1945. Chartered on December 14, 1940 in Los Angeles California, Beta Psi Lambda Chapter, also known as The Grand Chapter, is the oldest and largest Alpha Phi Alpha alumni chapter in the Western Region of the Fraternity. The Chapter consists of brothers who are accomplished professionals involved in disciplines including education, technology, engineering, theology, fine arts, entertainment, media, as well as the legal and medical professions. The Chapter upholds the Fraternity’s Mission Statement by actively supporting educational endeavors through a diverse compilation of talent and intellect. We proudly serve the Los Angeles metropolitan community through an array of community service projects. The Chapter meets on the fourth Friday of each month at 7 p.m. for chapter meetings at The Los Angeles Alpha House, 3712 W. 54th Street. The Chapter also host various community service and social events throughout the year. Beta Psi Lambda advices Alpha Delta Chapter, which is seated at USC, Cal State Los Angeles, and Occidental University. We’re still reflecting on the impact of “Broken Silence – Healing Black Men, Protecting Black Women” and are deeply grateful to every volunteer, mental health professional, partner, and community member who helped make it possible.

Now, we invite the community to join us this Sunday for the 5th Annual AS WE WORSHIP Gospel Brunch Experience. This is a FREE brunch, open to the public, and an opportunity to come together in faith, fellowship, and support of a meaningful cause. This year, our focus is on mental health, and our goal is to raise $8,500 to help eliminate barriers for Black men who are ready to do the work and seek counseling services.

Come be with us. Come break bread with us. Come stand with us.

Join us for the 5th Annual AS WE WORSHIP Experience, a community gathering centered on worship, healing, mental health awareness, and collective care.

This year, we are raising $8,500 to help eliminate financial barriers for Black men seeking mental health support. As our community continues the work of addressing domestic violence, trauma, silence, and healing, AS WE WORSHIP creates space for faith, fellowship, brunch, and restoration.

This year’s experience will feature renowned artist Tia P. and Dr. Rob J. Thrash IV, who leads worship at The A.R.M.E.D. Church and Faithful Central Bible Church.

Space is limited. RSVP is required for all guests so we can prepare an accurate count for brunch.

⛓️‍💥 Pain left untreated does not disappear. It spills into homes, relationships, and communities.

Broken Silence – Healing Black Men, Protecting Black Women is a fully immersive public program confronting domestic violence through victim stories, a silent listening experience, and honest community engagement. The intention is clear: move Black men from silence to healing, from avoidance to accountability, and from pain to action.

Counselors will be on-site, including Black male clinicians prepared to offer a minimum of three counseling sessions to men in attendance who are ready to begin the work.

Black men deserve healing. Black women and children deserve safety. Our community deserves both. Accommodations available.

This initiative is bigger than a single program. It is part of a continued movement to educate, organize, empower, and protect our communities through collective action and informed voting.

We are also proud to partner with Brother Ludlow Creary, President of the Langston Bar Association, alongside fellow community leaders, faith institutions, and D9 organizations committed to justice and equity.

The Supreme Court may challenge federal protections, but it cannot weaken our resolve.
