But you don’t have to have the perfect words to reach out.

Over 40 years ago, Shad Meshad founded the National Veterans Foundation with a simple but powerful purpose: to make sure Veterans had somewhere to turn and someone who would listen.

That mission still matters today.

For many Veterans, one caring conversation can be the first step toward support, resources, and hope.

82 years ago, Allied troops stormed the beaches of Normandy in one of the most courageous military operations in history.

Many were barely more than boys.
Many never came home.
All helped change the course of the world.

Today, the National Veterans Foundation remembers the bravery, sacrifice, and unshakable courage of the D-Day Veterans and all who served in World War II.

What would you say to a D-Day Veteran if you had the chance?

Many family caregivers are doing quiet, exhausting, life-changing work every single day.

If you help care for a Veteran with serious needs, the VA’s Program of Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers, also called PCAFC, may offer support for eligible Veterans and caregivers.

Depending on eligibility, the program may include caregiver training, respite care, counseling, technical support, and a possible monthly stipend for the Primary Family Caregiver.

The Veteran and caregiver apply together, and a Veteran may apply with one Primary Family Caregiver and up to two Secondary Family Caregivers.

Caregivers give so much. Knowing what help is available matters. ❤️

PTSD is not always easy to see.

For many Veterans, it may show up as sleepless nights, irritability, isolation, anxiety, emotional numbness, or feeling like they can never fully relax.

This June, for PTSD Awareness Month, let’s remember that healing often begins when someone feels safe enough to talk.

The National Veterans Foundation and the Lifeline for Vets are here to listen, support, and help connect Veterans with resources.

Some Veterans inspire us not by making noise, but by simply continuing forward.

They show up for their families.
They show up for their communities.
They show up for one more day, one more step, one more reason to keep going.

Today, we’re honoring the quiet strength of Veterans who keep moving forward and keep inspiring the rest of us. ❤️

On Memorial Day, words can feel too small.

For the service members who gave their lives, for the families who still carry that loss, and for every name remembered in quiet moments today, we pause with gratitude and respect.

Some sacrifices are remembered in silence. Today, we remember. ❤️

Every Veteran has a story. 📖

Some stories make people laugh. 😂 Some are filled with pride. 🎖️ Some are harder to talk about. And some are still unfolding every day.

At the NVF, we believe every Veteran deserves to be heard, supported, and connected to real resources when they need them. 🤝

Through the Lifeline for Vets, the National Veterans Foundation is here for Veterans and their families with compassion, guidance, and no judgment. 💙

Because every story matters. Every Veteran matters. 🌟

On National Maritime Day, we honor the men and women whose service helped protect our waters, strengthen our nation, and keep America moving forward.

From the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard to the Merchant Marine and all who served in maritime roles, their dedication deserves recognition.

To every Veteran whose service was tied to the sea, the National Veterans Foundation sees you, honors you, and thanks you. ⚓

A door slamming. Fireworks in the distance. A helicopter overhead. A sound most people barely notice can bring a Veteran back to a moment they have spent years trying to leave behind.

For many Veterans, the memories of service are not just thoughts. Sometimes they arrive as sounds, reactions, sleepless nights, or a body that remembers before the mind can explain.

At the National Veterans Foundation, we believe Veterans deserve compassion, understanding, and support long after their service ends.
