The Salvation Army Red Shield Youth and Community Center operates in the Pico-Union district of Los Angeles. Our purpose is to guide and mentor young people and strengthen families by providing educational, recreational, and spiritual programs in a positive and safe environment.

My favorite aspect of Summer Day Camp was the lively energy and involvement among our staff and children. We offered engaging activities and enjoyable games that fostered leadership and new friendships.

My favorite aspect of camp was guiding the children through drills, which allowed them to gain insight into footwork and observe their enthusiasm for new skills.

My favorite week was the most recent one, performing arts week. Many energetic children joined dance-offs and even learned new routines. They also attempted enjoyable, simple stunts.

My favorite camp week was undoubtedly STEAM week. It was a great experience guiding students through volcanoes and the different projects we completed.

Aquatic week stood out as my favorite because the children were unified, playing, and enjoying themselves. My preferred moment involved them chanting for Nena to leap into the pool.
