Inclusive Action (IAC) accomplishes its work through three primary functions:

I. Advocacy & Research - IAC researches and advocates for thoughtful urban policy and holds forums connecting hundreds of planners and community development practitioners each year in support of innovative revitalization initiatives;

II. Lending & Economic Development - IAC designs and builds economic development pro

jects including the Semi'a Fund, which provides low-interest loans to entrepreneurs in low-income, communities of color; and

III. Advisory Services - IAC serves as an expert resource for organizations and government agencies trying to implement innovative strategies to revitalize low-income, urban areas.

BIG announcement! Mark your calendars! 🗓️ September 21 is officially Landscaper Appreciation Day in California 🌿🌱We are overjoyed to have an official day to honor and uplift the work they do for our communities. 

We were proud to be in Sacramento with landscapers and partners to support María Elena Durazo’s resolution creating Landscaper Appreciation Day. 

We are continuing to advocate for Celeste Rodriguez’s Just Transition for Landscapers Act to ensure an equitable transition to electric equipment. Our bill will head to the Senate floor soon! 

We are one step closer to ensuring landscapers get the recognition they deserve and have a voice in the policies that impact their lives.

This is why we encourage the community to come together, these donations can change a business owner’s life. ❤️ Although our applications for direct aid have closed, we are still accepting donations via GoFundMe to distribute to affected small business owners and street vendors. We’re proud to support Samira and her business – as well as more than 50 local small businesses who were impacted by the fire – with capital and coaching to recover. A big milestone for Chef Glenda, getting her brand new cart to grow her street vending business! Congratulations! 🎉✨

Our team was proud to provide Glenda with business coaching and support with the permitting process, through the partnership with Department of Economic Opportunity’s Economic Mobility Initiative. With grant funds from the County, she received her brand new beautiful cart from Revolution Carts!

Glenda ChefGoodness Clark plans to serve up Cajun and Creole food, including Gumborritos or Jambarritos – jambalaya rice and meat wrapped into a burrito and smothered in gumbo. She’ll also be serving up gumbo, gumbo baked potatoes, and gumbo greens.

Chef Glenda was inspired to create her business doing what she loves and being surrounded by the people she loves, like her family! She’s growing her business to create her own schedule and build financial freedom. 💪🙌

Proud to support small businesses and street vendors impacted by the Lineage fire. 🫶 Orgullosos de apoyar a las pequeñas empresas y a los vendedores ambulantes afectados por el incendio Lineage.

The community has gone through so much, and it isn’t over yet – local businesses are still hurting.

Through the partnership between Inclusive Action for the City, Hustle & Heart Collective and Boyle Heights Chamber of Commerce, we distributed more than 100 grants this week to local businesses and vendors in Boyle Heights and East LA. Thank you to everyone who donated!
