The LAKMA Philharmonic Orchestra & Chorus, conducted by Maestro Im Sang Yoon, will hold a benefit concert to aid earthquake-stricken Turkey on August 5th at 7:30 PM at the Walt Disney Concert Hall.
The concert features Verdi's Requiem performed by world-renowned Soprano Burcu Hanchi, Bass-baritone Burak Bilgili from the New York Mets, Tenor Wi Young Oh from the Korean community, and Mezzo-soprano Julia Metzler from LA Opera as soloists.
Additionally, Turkish pianist AyseDeniz Gokcin will perform her original composition "Kelton & Chaos"

4/2/2023 LAKMA 종려주일 찬양집회 오렌지 카운티 영락교회 - 라크마 챔버 합창단(단장 최승호•음악감독 윤임상)이 고난주간을 맞아 찬양 연주회를 개최하고 예수 그리스도의 십자가 고난과 부활의 영광을 깊은 감동으로 연주했다.

지난 2일, 오렌지카운티영락교회(담임 김경섭 목사)에서 진행된 연주회에서 라크마 합창단은 풍성한 화음과 진한 신앙고백으로 예수 그리스도의 십자가 고통과 죄인을 위한 대속의 사랑을 노래했다.

이날 전문 합창 기술과 예술적 감성을 통해 인상적인 무대를 선보인 라크마 합창단은 다채로운 레퍼토리로 참석자들의 마음과 귀를 사로잡았다.

LAKMA (President Seung Ho Choi, Music Director Im Sang Yoon) Symphony Orchestra & Chorale “Unified in Friendship & Harmony” peace concert will be held on Saturday, August 6th at 7:00pm at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles. It is expected that this will be a meaningful peace concert to collaborate and promote the activities of the Women Cross DMZ group, which is particularly centered on second-generation Korean women.
To this end, the music unfolds with three important messages:

LAKMA extends a warm invitation to join us for our upcoming concert “Peace Concert: Unified in Friendship and Harmony” at the Walt Disney Concert Hall on August 6.

LAKMA believes that music has the power to uplift communities and transform mindsets. Our mission is: “We are people helping people through music.” In the face of despair, we turn to music to remind us of our spirit and purpose.

The program will include Dona Nobis Pacem, performances by acclaimed soloists Svetla Vassileva and Boris Martinovich, as well as a screening of exclusive clips from the new documentary Crossings by Emmy award-winning filmmaker Deann Borshay Liem (Geographies of Kinship, Memory of Forgotten War). The film is about women’s peacebuilding efforts to end the Korean War.

This concert has a particularly timely and urgent message for peace, as tensions continue to rise on the Korean Peninsula. Proceeds from ticket sales and donations will go to WCDMZ in support of their peace-building efforts. Please join us for this special event.
