Last Tuesday, the ๐๐€๐๐’ Chapter in Boston came together for another edition of PAPS Connects. Throughout the session, students from the ๐Œ๐ˆ๐“ ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ ๐š๐ฅ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ ๐ซ๐š๐ฆ, MIT students, and PAPS members discussed career opportunities, the challenges of transitioning from academia to industry, and the role of networking in professional development. ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿค

The presentation of academic and professional journeys from several PAPS members made the conversation particularly enriching, offering insights into different paths and perspectives across various career stages.

On July 7, members of the PAPS New Yorkโ€“New Jersey Chapter community visited the NRP Sagres, docked in Brooklyn as part of Sail4th 250 โ€” the maritime celebration of the 250th anniversary of the United Statesโ€™ independence.

The experience aboard this iconic Training Ship, guided by ๐‹๐ข๐ž๐ฎ๐ญ๐ž๐ง๐š๐ง๐ญ ๐ƒ๐ข๐š๐ฌ and ๐‚๐š๐๐ž๐ญ ๐๐ข๐ซ๐ž๐ฌ ๐‘๐จ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ ๐ฎ๐ž๐ฌ, offered members the opportunity to learn more about its history, mission, and traditions, as well as life on board and its role in shaping future generations of the Portuguese Navy, while serving as a symbol of Portugalโ€™s connection to the world.

We thank the Commander of the NRP Sagres, ๐‰๐จ๐ฌรฉ ๐๐ž ๐’๐จ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐š ๐‹๐ฎรญ๐ฌ, and the Portuguese Navy for making this unforgettable moment possible.

On July 13, the PAPS community at the Boston Chapter gathered aboard the ๐๐‘๐ ๐’๐š๐ ๐ซ๐ž๐ฌ for a special event with ๐‚๐ซ๐š๐ข๐  ๐Œ๐ž๐ฅ๐ฅ๐จ, recipient of the ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ” ๐๐จ๐›๐ž๐ฅ ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ณ๐ž ๐ข๐ง ๐๐ก๐ฒ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ฅ๐จ๐ ๐ฒ ๐จ๐ซ ๐Œ๐ž๐๐ข๐œ๐ข๐ง๐ž, organized in partnership with the Consulate General of Portugal in Boston.

In the symbolic setting of the Sagres Training Ship - one of Portugalโ€™s greatest ambassadors around the world - Craig Mello shared his personal and professional journey, from his Azorean roots to his extraordinary scientific career, in an open and inspiring conversation with members of the Portuguese community in Boston.

No passado domingo, a comunidade PAPS do chapter de DMV teve o privilรฉgio de visitar o ๐๐š๐ฏ๐ข๐จ ๐๐š ๐‘๐ž๐ฉรบ๐›๐ฅ๐ข๐œ๐š ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ ๐ฎ๐ž๐ฌ๐š ๐’๐š๐ ๐ซ๐ž๐ฌ, atracado em Inner Harbor, Baltimore, para mais uma ediรงรฃo do ๐๐€๐๐’ ๐•๐ข๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ๐ฌ.

Em missรฃo nos Estados Unidos no รขmbito da ๐’๐š๐ข๐ฅ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ“๐ŸŽ, o emblemรกtico navio-escola da Marinha Portuguesa atravessou o Atlรขntico para integrar as comemoraรงรตes dos 250 anos da independรชncia dos Estados Unidos. A visita proporcionou uma oportunidade รบnica para conhecer de perto um dos maiores sรญmbolos de Portugal e celebrar a forte ligaรงรฃo entre os dois paรญses.

Durante a visita, tivemos ainda o privilรฉgio de ser recebidos pela tripulaรงรฃo e pelo Comandante ๐‰๐จ๐ฌรฉ ๐’๐จ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐š ๐‹๐ฎรญ๐ฌ, que partilharam connosco a histรณria, a missรฃo e o quotidiano a bordo do ๐’๐š๐ ๐ซ๐ž๐ฌ, tornando esta experiรชncia ainda mais especial.

Last Sunday, the PAPS community in the DMV Chapter had the privilege of visiting the ๐๐‘๐ ๐’๐š๐ ๐ซ๐ž๐ฌ, docked at Baltimoreโ€™s Inner Harbor, for another edition of ๐๐€๐๐’ ๐•๐ข๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ๐ฌ.

As part of the Sail250 commemorations, the iconic Portuguese Navy training ship crossed the Atlantic to join the celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of the United States' independence. The visit offered a unique opportunity to experience one of Portugalโ€™s greatest national symbols up close and celebrate the strong ties between Portugal and the United States.

During the visit, we were warmly welcomed by the crew and Commanding Officer ๐‰๐จ๐ฌรฉ ๐’๐จ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐š ๐‹๐ฎรญ๐ฌ, who shared with us the history, mission, and daily life aboard the ๐’๐š๐ ๐ซ๐ž๐ฌ, making this experience even more memorable.

No passado dia 6 de junho, a comunidade PAPS do ๐œ๐ก๐š๐ฉ๐ญ๐ž๐ซ ๐๐ž ๐ƒ๐Œ๐• reuniu-se em Washington, DC, para mais uma ediรงรฃo de PAPS Social, desta vez no formato Theater Edition, uma noite dedicada ร  cultura, ao teatro e ao convรญvio.

Os participantes assistiram a ๐Œ๐š๐œ๐›๐ž๐ญ๐ก no Theatre Lab, uma das obras mais emblemรกticas de Shakespeare. A peรงa conquistou o pรบblico do inรญcio ao fim e tornou-se ainda mais especial com a participaรงรฃo do nosso membro PAPS ๐‘๐ฎ๐ข ๐‚๐จ๐ฌ๐ญ๐š no papel de Macduff. Foi um enorme orgulho poder apoiรก-lo e aplaudi-lo em palco. ๐Ÿ‘

Antes de subir o pano, a comunidade reuniu-se para um agradรกvel momento de convรญvio entre os participantes, dando o mote para mais um excelente evento PAPS ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡น

On June 6, the PAPS community of the ๐ƒ๐Œ๐• ๐œ๐ก๐š๐ฉ๐ญ๐ž๐ซ gathered in Washington, DC, for another edition of PAPS Social, this time Theater Edition, an evening dedicated to culture, theater, and community.

Participants attended ๐Œ๐š๐œ๐›๐ž๐ญ๐ก at Theatre Lab, one of Shakespeareโ€™s most iconic works. The performance captivated the audience from start to finish and was made even more special by the participation of our PAPS member, ๐‘๐ฎ๐ข ๐‚๐จ๐ฌ๐ญ๐š, as Macduff. It was a true privilege to support him and applaud his outstanding performance on stage. ๐Ÿ‘

Before the curtain rose, the community came together for a relaxed social gathering, setting the tone for another memorable PAPS event ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡น

No passado sรกbado, a comunidade PAPS do chapter de NY/NJ reuniu-se no Hotel Pestana CR7, em Nova Iorque, para viver em conjunto mais um momento inesquecรญvel de apoio ร  Seleรงรฃo Nacional no Mundial.

Desde os primeiros minutos, o ambiente foi simplesmente elรฉtrico โ€” um verdadeiro mar de emoรงรฃo, nervos ร  flor da pele em que cada lance era vivido em conjunto, como se estivรฉssemos todos lado a lado com a Seleรงรฃo, num sรณ grito, numa sรณ paixรฃo.

Entre petiscos portugueses, boa conversa e um espaรงo cheio atรฉ ao รบltimo canto, a comunidade viveu uma verdadeira noite de Portugal em Nova Iorque. โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’š

Last Saturday, the PAPS community from the NY/NJ chapter gathered at Hotel Pestana CR7 in New York City to share yet another unforgettable moment of support for the Portuguese National Team at the World Cup.

From the very first minutes, the atmosphere was simply electric โ€” a true sea of emotion, nerves on edge, and Portuguese pride overflowing with every play. Every moment was experienced together, as if we were all right there beside the team, united in one voice and one passion.

Between Portuguese bites, great conversations, and a venue filled to the very last corner, the community experienced a true night of Portugal in New York City. โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’š
