Falconhood Barbers Network

Falconhood Barbers Network FALCONHOOD BARBER NETWORK is a project of the FALCONHOOD Foundation that trains and supports barbers as interventionists and mentors to young men at risk.

Founded in 2015 by former Los Angeles Crip gang member, Melvin "C-Dogg" Johnson, the Falconhood Barbers Network was created from his years of experience as a certified gang interventionist, youth counselor, and mentor to many. "The barber shop is where the kids talk," says Mel. "So why not focus our attention there, making each hair cut help to make better men out of our troubled youth?"

The Fal

conhood Foundation & Barbers Network is a non-profit 501(c)3 that operates from a South Central Los Angeles Barber Shop where it develops, pilots, and distributes programs and educational materials to barber mentors in L.A. and other cities. Falconhood Barbers Network is funded by its own barbershop business, private and public grants, and small membership fees from Falconhood-affiliated barbers who want to be associated and promoted in the fight against gang violence and the impoverishment of our youth.
