When we hear the words “food insecurity,” we might picture someone who doesn't have anything to eat. But food insecurity is about more than an empty refrigerator.

It means not having consistent access to enough food for an active, healthy life. It can mean worrying about whether the grocery budget will last, skipping certain foods because they're too expensive, or having to make difficult choices between food and other necessities.
And it doesn't always look the way we expect.

Understanding what food insecurity really means helps us better understand the people and communities affected by it.

Food insecurity remains a priority for us.

Millions of people continue to face the uncertainty of knowing where their next meal will come from. While we may not be able to solve food insecurity on our own, we believe we can, and should, do our part. We’re proud to support food banks and organizations working in communities across the country, and our commitment doesn’t end with one donation or one campaign.

Food insecurity isn’t just a statistic. It’s a reality affecting individuals and families in communities everywhere. This is an issue that deserves our attention and our action.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing more about food insecurity, who it affects, the important role food banks play, and why supporting this cause remains a priority for us. We believe understanding the issue is an important first step toward making a difference.

We will continue looking for meaningful ways to support those facing food insecurity and to help put food on tables where it’s needed most.
