Sokol Los Angeles Sokol Los Angeles is a non-profit organization that engages in various programs and activities to support the physical & mental well being of its members.

Sokol Los Angeles was established in 1909 to carry on the Tyrš philosophy, which dates back to the founding in Prague in 1862 of the Sokol Movement by Miroslav Tyrš who believed that only physically fit, mentally alert, and culturally well-developed citizens can make a nation strong and give life to the honorable spirit of patriotism. Our organization is open to all individuals interested in Czech

and Slovak cultures. In keeping with the Tyrš philosophy, members and non-members are invited to participate in exercise classes, Czech language classes (adult and children), attend family picnics and youth days, participate in slets (international and national gymnastics/sports festivals), attend educational and cultural events, and celebrate our heritage at special events.
