It’s time we talk about tools.

In Episode 116 of After the Tones Drop, join me for the kind of conversation that doesn’t flinch.

We dig into what actually helps:
🧠 SGB shots
🌀 EMDR
📿 Meditation
🤝 Real community

…plus the raw truth about what it really takes to keep healing—long after the uniform comes off.

This isn’t just about surviving the job.
It’s about learning how to live after.

1. Look at Your Story Honestly.
Before you can heal it, you have to name it. Your trauma. Your patterns. Your past. Stop hiding behind the uniform and take inventory. It's all there.

2. Stop Waiting for the “Right” Solution.
SGB, EMDR, neurofeedback, psilocybin retreats—there’s no one-size-fits-all. What matters is starting somewhere and staying in it. Pick something and start.

3. Build a Crew You Trust.
Matty didn’t do this alone. None of us do. Find your people—peers, therapists, recovery partners—who get it and don’t flinch when it gets hard.

4. Keep Showing Up.
You don’t heal once. You heal daily. Mental health isn’t a weekend seminar—it’s maintenance, movement, and meaning over time.

Want more of the raw, real, and useful side of healing?

🚨 First Responders & Mental Health 🚨

Firefighters, paramedics, police officers and other first responders face unimaginable stress daily. Dr. Daniel Amen and Amen Clinics are stepping up to help, using SPECT brain scans and innovative treatments like the Stellate Ganglion Block (SGB), also known as the Stella Shot, to tackle PTSD, anxiety, and depression.

One powerful story comes from our ver my own, Matty Fiorenza, he retired after 22 years as a firefighter-paramedic and he battled PTSD, alcoholism, and depression. After 3 su***de attempts, he turned to holistic healing—meditation, equine therapy, EMDR, neurofeedback, and the Stella Shot, which changed his life forever. This groundbreaking treatment helped regulate his nervous system, reducing PTSD symptoms almost instantly.

Now, he’s teaming up with KTLA 5 news and Dr. Amen to advocate for mental health awareness and real solutions for first responders.

Matty’s journey is featured in PTSD911, a documentary shedding light on the crisis. Together, they’re breaking the stigma and ensuring help is available for those who dedicate their lives to saving others.

💡 If you or a first responder you know is struggling, support is out there. Let’s stand together for those who serve. 🙌

🎖️🐾 A Moment of Relief 🔥

Matty and Axel, our amazing peer support duo had an opportunity to visit our California National Guard at the LA Fires. These heroes on two legs and four paws are bringing smiles, comfort, and strength to those on the frontlines.

When the battle gets tough, it’s moments like these that remind us of the power of connection and support. Thank you to all our service members for your dedication and courage—you are truly appreciated. 💪❤️

As fires rage across Los Angeles, countless brave firefighters are putting their lives on the line to protect our communities. 💪 Amidst the chaos, it's essential to acknowledge the heroes behind the flames—and the incredible support systems that keep them going.

Matty reconnected with his brother from Hemet FD while offering peer support to those on the front lines. 🧑‍🚒 And let’s not forget Axel, the emotional support K9, who’s been a beacon of comfort and strength during these tough times. 🐾❤️
