A dispensation was issued by the Grand Master to allow a new Masonic Lodge, named Oasis Lodge U.D., and was to be formed in Los Angeles. Oasis Lodge received its Charter at the 163rd Ann

ual Communications of the Grand Lodge of California (2012) and issued the number 854. It will meet at the Al Malaikah Shrine Center, and it hopes to attract potential Masons from the central city, downtown, and USC areas. The, then, current Potentate of Al Malaikah Shrine (2011), Sam Pitassi, was selected to be installed as its first Worshipful Master. The institution of the newly formed lodge was officiated on September 15, 2011, at the Al Malaikah Shrine Temple by the Most Worshipful Bill Bray, Grand Master of Masons in California; approximately 500 people were in attendance. Oasis Lodge is your home for Freemasonry in Downtown Los Angeles, Metro, and surrounding areas.

Last night marked the conclusion of my stated meeting, and with it, the closing of a chapter I will forever cherish. I am deeply grateful for the unwavering support, guidance, and brotherly love I have received throughout my term. Each of you—through your presence, your counsel, and your quiet acts of encouragement—helped shape my journey in the East.

As I prepare to pass the gavel, I do so with pride and humility. I gave my best, learned more than I ever expected, and grew in ways only this sacred trust can teach a man. The lessons, the challenges, the triumphs, and even the uncertainties have all strengthened my resolve and deepened my love for this Craft.

Now, as I step into the role of Past Master of Oasis Lodge No. 854, I know the real work begins—not with authority, but with experience; not with a title, but with a renewed commitment to serve, support, and uplift the Lodge that has given me so much.

Thank you, my Brothers, for walking this path with me. Your support has been my anchor, and your faith in me has been my light.
