Today, GOD has GRACED me with my 60th Chapter on this earth! I have been BLESSED to be able to live LIFE on my own terms. Yes, I have faced trials and tribulations and I have learned many LESSONS. However, I would not change anything. My experiences have brought me closer to GOD and have increased my FAITH in him.

Every day, I wake up with JOY in my HEART because my GOD allows me to live my PURPOSE as the Founder and Executive Director of Ten Toes In. I create a SAFE space for my Brothers and Sisters to feel seen, heard and loved. I am fulfilled by being able to help others. Thank you to our Community Partners for helping Ten Toes In make a difference in the world.

Last but certainly not least, Thank You to my Life Partner, my children, my grandbabies, my parents, my family members, my friends and my Church family. I love and appreciate you to the Moon and back! Without you, I would not be the person that I am today.

We are 24 days and counting from our Annual Lifers and Family Picnic!

This is an event to CELEBRATE all of our Returning Citizens and their families who have supported them on this Journey. This is also an opportunity for Community Partners to come out and share space with our Ten Toes In Family and Guests!

There will be a Kid’s Korner with Arts and Crafts, games and face painting. There will be adult games, tug of war, musical chairs, three legged race and more! You will also enjoy delicious food, desserts and cold drinks. Last but certainly not least, you will listen to oldies but goodies and new school music!

I woke up with a SMILE on my face this morning!😘 Yesterday, my Ten Toes In Family SURPRISED me with a BEAUTIFUL 60th Birthday Celebration! Can I tell you how SPECIAL I felt during this PRICELESS moment?

Being a GIVER and always wanting to put a smile on someone else's face, I do it from my HEART.

But I am a Birthday Girl and I CELEBRATE my SPECIAL day every year in my Darlene way. But it hits differently when other people show up and make a Circle and express how you have impacted their lives. This was the epitome of "Giving Me My Flowers While I Am Here To Enjoy Them".

Thank you to everyone who shared this very special CELEBRATION with me!😘 Your presence made a HUGE difference in my life.
You will never how SPECIAL you made me feel.

Thank you to my right hand lady, Andra Joann Bonilla for coordinating this event with your HEART, time and efforts. Our Brothers and Sisters discussed several things at this meeting:

This is a very UNIQUE space for our formerly incarcerated Brothers and their romantic Partners.

We are building HEALTHY Families and SAFE Communities.
