At our Los Angeles Couple’s Support Group, we discussed, “Would You Rather...

• Would you rather have a partner who always tells the truth or always protects your feelings?
• Would you rather solve conflict immediately or take time to cool off first?
• Would you rather receive affection privately or publicly?

The goal isn’t necessarily to agree on the same answer, but to discuss each person’s point of view and reasoning. These conversations can help both parties better understand each other’s needs, communication styles, and expectations, while working toward a resolution or compromise that respects both perspectives.

Kudos to all of our Brothers and Sisters who are choosing to invest in their relationships!

Thank you to our Team Member, Jimmy for facilitating our Compton Mentorship Support Group meeting.

Our Brothers discussed, "How Do We Work With Others In The Community". In their former lives, they operated alone because they were living the criminal lifestyle. As productive Citizens, they are learning to TRUST and be in Community with others.

Our Virtual Mentorship Support Meeting was created for formerly incarcerated men to share their Reentry Journey and discuss challenges that they face in life. It is also a space to encourage one another and share resources.

We have had Brothers joined us from all over the world because they all are connected in some way or another. These men help each other and grow within this space by being TRANSPARENT and ACCOUNTABLE.

In our May meeting, the Brothers discussed creating Healthy Habits that included Self Care, Healthy Eating and Healthy Relationships.

Our Virtual Sister Support Group is such a SPECIAL Community. Even though we do not see each other in person, our SISTERHOOD is inseparable.😘💕💕

We had 20 Sisters representing in our meeting from Hawaii, Colorado, Nevada and of course, Cali (Southern and Northern).

We discussed, "Protecting Your Peace While Loving Someone Through Reentry". Also, we discussed, "What Is One Thing You Wish People Understood About Being In A Relationship With Someone Impacted By Incarceration".

This is not an easy Journey, but our Sisters are not only Soldiers, but they are BEAUTIFUL, educated, professional and leaders in their homes and communities. They DESERVE to be applauded for being "Ten Toes In" with everything that they do.👏👏👏

I want to give a SPECIAL Shout out to my Sister, Jessica for catching a plane and renting a car to meet me in Colorado while I was there for a Women's Leadership Conference. Your efforts meant the world to me!💕💕💕

I want to give another SPECIAL Shout Out to my Sister, Glenda who met me in Sacramento while I was "lobbying" on Capital Hill. We sat hugged and talked for hours. She even walked me back to where my event was being held (blocks away). I want you to know how much I needed that time with you...💕💕💕

This is what REAL Sisterhood looks like! Thank you, Jessica and Glenda. You really made me feel SPECIAL...💕💕💕

Thank you to our AMAZING Facilitators, Joe and Michelle for leading our Discussion for our Compton Couples Support Group Meeting!😘

Our Brothers and Sisters came together in a SACRED space to talk about being, "Stronger Together: Reflection On Our Hardest Season, Our Growth and Our Future".

These Couples are investing in each other by putting in the work and being TRANSPARENT about the struggles that they face in their relationships. They also ENCOURAGE each other with words of wisdom and their experiences.
