VOLUNTEER ROLE: COMPANIONSHIP VOLUNTEER – SOCIAL ENGAGEMENT (1 of 3)
Purpose:
To provide friendly conversation, company, and a sense of joy and purpose to seniors in our independent living and assisted housing programs.
Responsibilities:
• Spend quality time with residents through conversation and shared stories
• Engage in light activities such as reading together, walks, or listening to music
• Monitor resident mood and report any concerns to staff
Ideal Qualifications:
• Friendly, patient, and reliable
• Passion for working with older adults
• Respect for confidentiality and boundaries
Time Commitment:
1–2 visits per week, 1–2 hours per visit (flexible)

VOLUNTEER ROLE: COMPANIONSHIP VOLUNTEER – GAME & ACTIVITY FACILITATOR (2 of 3)
Purpose:
To bring fun, laughter, and cognitive stimulation to our senior residents through structured activities and casual group games.
Responsibilities:
• Organize simple games such as bingo, puzzles, card games, or trivia
• Encourage group participation while being mindful of individual energy levels
• Celebrate small wins and birthdays to promote joy and inclusion
Ideal Qualifications:
• Creative and outgoing personality
• Experience with or interest in recreational therapy, activity planning, or caregiving
• Comfortable facilitating small groups
Time Commitment:
2–4 hours per week, in-home or scheduled activity blocks

VOLUNTEER ROLE: COMPANIONSHIP VOLUNTEER – WELLNESS BUDDY (3 of 3)
Purpose:
To help promote emotional and social wellness by simply being a reliable and caring presence in a senior’s day.
Responsibilities:
• Check in on residents, provide companionship and reassurance
• Accompany seniors during mealtimes, walks, or relaxation activities
• Encourage light movement, stretching, or engaging conversations
Ideal Qualifications:
• Empathetic and calming presence
• Strong listening skills
• Interest in holistic well-being for seniors
Time Commitment:
1–3 hours per week, scheduled around resident availability
