One of our volunteers picked up Sage Saturday and will be fostering her until she finds her forever home. She is half Leonberger. She was originally adopted with a sibling which was not an ideal situation. Additionally, her new home had little kids and that seemed to cause her some anxiety.
Once she was relocated to our volunteer’s home, she has noticed that she is an extremely chill dog. She is not showing any signs of anxiety. She was introduced to the volunteer’s 2 other dogs and has fully integrated into her pack with no dog reactivity issues. She also met with a trainer to determine if she should go into a board and train situation. The trainer agreed that she was a sweet and calm girl that really didn’t need any more training. The volunteer has now had her for going on 3 days and has experienced no issues with her at all. She has been chilled and relaxed.
She will be 4 in a few weeks. She is up to date on all vaccines. She is HW negative (and will come with a years supply of HW and flea meds). She is spayed. She has also been to obedience school. Her ideal home would be one without small children. And we think she would do great in a home with bigger, active dogs. She has a lot of ya-yas to get out every day! She is actually trained to run alongside a bike (which we can’t do right now with the excessive heat in Texas). She is currently located near Conroe, Texas, north of Houston.
