The Cante Sica Foundation

The Cante Sica Foundation Cante Sica gives Native American alumni of boarding schools a chance to tell their stories and heal while educating the public about this legacy.

We do this by filming alumni oral histories and sharing them through an interactive website and an archive. "Cante Sica" translates as "heart no good" in the Lakota language. Walter Littlemoon, Lakota boarding school survivor and subject of the award-winning documentary "The Thick Dark Fog", provided the name of the Foundation. He and the team strive to help other alumni on their journey of healing and reconciliation.
