Last week’s SCOTUS decision preserving access to mifepristone at pharmacies and via mail wasn’t a permanent win – its just one example of the many egregious attacks attempting to strip away our bodily autonomy. Check out the FAB Council steering committee and CCRF’s statement on the ruling.

Grateful to Assemblymember Mia Bonta for joining members of the Coalition for Reproductive Freedom last week for an inspiring and energizing roundtable discussion on protecting reproductive freedom and reducing the impact of H.R. 1 on our state’s safety-net programs.

We’re proud to stand alongside lawmakers who are deeply committed to the health and dignity of all Californians. Together, we must continue to “defend and build.”

In the nearly four years since the overturning of Roe v. Wade, California has led the nation in enacting 31 pro-abortion laws and investing $200 million to protect and expand access to abortion care for all people in the state. Yet, we are not immune to the attacks on reproductive freedom from the federal government. The California Future of Abortion Council (FAB Council) – an independent project of CCRF – released a new expert-informed report outlining 48 policy recommendations state leaders can pursue to protect the progress we’ve made and continue expanding equitable access to abortion care amid unrelenting federal attacks on reproductive health, rights and justice. We look forward to working with state leaders to advance and implement the policy recommendations outlined in this report to protect abortion access in the state.
