As many of you know, my film Niña Quebrada is a story about s*x trafficking. It's an incredibly powerful movie that has inadvertently led me to become an activist against this horrific practice. Currently we are hard at work on exposing more of these activities that are happening in the USA. This movie is currently screening all over the world (next up China and Argentina) and even 9 years past its original premiere people are still shocked or just learning that this is happening in our own backyard. Please be aware that the USA is one of the largest countries for human and s*x trafficking. You may not realize it but that strip joint you like to frequent or even your mannies and peddies may be done by victims of human trafficking. Please be aware of your surroundings and report any behavior you find unusual. And parents, please know who your children are talking to online, double check and research summer job gigs and be aware that this is an extremely common practice in this country but isn't often talked about.
