HCM AWARENESS đ¤
Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy is often called the invisible disease because so many people look âfineâ while their heart is working overtime.
Awareness means learning the signs
Awareness means listening to your body
Awareness means earlier diagnosis, better care, and saved lives
Common signs & symptoms:
Shortness of breath â especially with activity
Chest pain or pressure
Heart palpitations or racing heartbeat
Feeling lightheaded or dizzy
Fainting or near fainting
Extreme fatigue that doesnât make sense
Exercise intolerance
Swelling in the legs, ankles, or abdomen
And sometimes, there are no symptoms at all, which is why family history and cardiac screening matter.
For many of us, the diagnosis came after years of being told
âyouâre just anxiousâ
âyouâre just out of shapeâ
âyour tests are normalâ
You are not dramatic
You are not weak
You are not imagining it
You are living with a real, life-altering heart condition.
At Twice the Heart, awareness is more than medical
itâs emotional
itâs mental
itâs the identity shift
itâs learning how to live, grieve, adapt, and still find joy.
If you are newly diagnosed
If you are still searching for answers
If you have been living with HCM for years
You are not alone here đ¤
Know the signs
Trust your body
Advocate for your heart
Protect your mental health
Because every heartbeat deserves to be understood.
