We posted about La Mu**ta and Xibalba a few days ago in our stories… but we didn’t reveal why 👀

They went to an absolutely lovely pair of dads for our foster-to-adopt program… on Father’s Day! 😍💖 (completely without meaning to… but the timing worked out perfectly.)

They’ve settled in wonderfully, and honestly were quite happy within minutes of arriving. Both did happy runs, and La Mu**ta in particular got busy demolishing everything edible in sight essentially straightaway.

We wish all the best for these four and are so grateful that they have this lovely family and home. Updates will continue to be posted to their account on Instagram for those of you that would like to follow their journey - their dads have a camera setup that will provide plenty of insights into their colorful life ahead.

If you too would like to make a difference for bunnies and other animals in our rescue (including cats, dogs, and guinea pigs) through fostering or adoption, please get in touch or apply using the forms on our Linktree: 🌎 https://linktr.ee/2rabbitrescue

Monday Pawsitivity is here! A reminder to keep hoppin’! 🤗

Furry Friend of the Week: Daffodil, 1.5 y/o🐰

Daffodil is a loving little boy with a playful, curious, and adventurous personality. He loves attention, pets, and snuggles, and while he enjoys treats, he’s definitely more people-motivated than food-motivated. And, he’s looking for his forever home!

Bonded with… Well, Daffodil isn’t bonded with anybunny yet, but we think he’d do very well with a bunny friend given time and patience during the bonding process.

Bonded bunnies provide each other companionship, comfort, and enrichment, often becoming inseparable best friends.

As our rescue continues expanding from Southern California into Arizona, we’re excited to help more rabbits like Daffodil find the loving homes they deserve.

a weekly series of inspirational & silly quotes taken straight from our furry friends to help you start the week on a good note. 🐾

The latest from Spice’s foster to adopter is that she has an immune condition that is complicating her cancer. She is starting a specialized kind of treatment and her doctor has recommended that she urgently find homes for the animals she has in order to reduce the likelihood of her becoming sick. So despite her love for Spice, it is time for him to find a new home - ideally, as soon as possible.

Can you help? All supplies provided along with education and training regardless of whether you’re fostering or adopting. We can help transport to you (even if you’re out of state).

Spice was previously bonded with a female bunny who unfortunately and unexpectedly passed away. They both came from a hoarding situation in Utah, and traveled all the way to San Bernardino… so he has lived quite a life already in his three years. However, he is a sweet boy and would love to have a family to call his own. He could possibly be bonded later on.

He is neutered and vaccinated.

Did you see our brief story update yesterday? It’s official - Kitt and Karma went to their foster to adopt home in San Diego! 💕

These two have been all over the place and we are beyond grateful for every one of the fosters and people that helped them get to where they are now. Their new mom is so excited for them to be a part of her life.

Latest news directly from her:

> They are doing pretty well. Karma has been exploring my room every opportunity she gets while kitt hasnt ventured out yet. They were both very excited to eat and honestly were very chill throughout the night

And indeed, within the first minute of arriving - even despite their 2.5 hour drive - they started eating their snacks and enjoying their snuggles. 🥰

Interested in fostering or adopting yourself? All bunnies in our rescue are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. We do as much as we can to support with supplies, resources, and education throughout their lifetime. Apply using the forms on our Linktree: https://linktr.ee/2rabbitrescue

Donations accepted at the same link - it all helps us cover everything from transportation costs, to vet care, to their basic needs. 🙏

Happy ☀️

This little boy was named Thunder by the kind woman that brought him in to the vet after seeing that he was abandoned by a stray cat by her house.

He had a rough and short life; he aspirated prior to arrival at the vet, had trouble latching, and even experienced an allergic reaction to the penicillin he was given upon arrival. After a very uncertain night, his outlook improved and we thought he was going to make it... but it was not to be.

He loved the heart beat pulse. He was talkative and squiggly; he was able to sustain his head at the end and wiggle crawl. He passed peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by soft blankies and next to his loving foster mom.

We are incredibly grateful for the woman that rescued him for giving him a chance, and even more so for and her dedicated, attentive care for this little baby that was quite literally a last minute, unexpected request for help late Saturday night. He wouldn’t have had any love in his final hour if not for these two kind individuals, and it mattered that he did have love in the end.

RIP sweet Thunder. 🌧️🌈

Juniper has begun his new life in after traveling all the way from - and his new family is just as happy as we are, and as he is. They found him completely unexpectedly and it was a perfect fit! He is officially in a foster to adopt to be absolutely sure; however, it seems like it’s a fateful match. ✨

We are beginning to expand on the state of Arizona and are actively looking for fosters, adopters, and volunteers as we build out a network in the state.

Our mission is to get animals to their forever home, and then provide lifetime support, resources, education and guidance in helping them stay with their families. If you’d like to be a part of the effort, please consider sharing this post, applying to foster or adopt, or donating: https://linktr.ee/2rabbitrescue

Peanut was adopted from us last year, and his family has shown up for him - ever since the very beginning, considering he was a foster fail. ✨When ear mites came up last month, they took him straight to the vet and paid for that treatment themselves - even with their budget beyond stretched thin right now.

The same visit found two more things that need attention: a back molar that’s overgrown and a case of rabbit syphilis. Both are common and treatable. The estimated cost is $406.50 to $651.50 - more than his family can cover, and more than we can absorb right now either.

Peanut has people who love him. They just need some backup. 💜

Any amount helps. Donations to our active GoFundMe go toward this month’s veterinary debts, which frees us to cover Peanut’s care. You can also donate directly through our Linktree. Both links are in our bio, or you can go directly to the following links:

(BTW - Peanut is free roam, he just has this area as his home base :-)

Daffodil has had a lovely time having a week long sleepover at another bunny’s house. He’s never had the experience of being bonded with another bunny before, and needs to learn that it’s safe to give and receive affection in that way. The little time he spent with the other bunny definitely opened his eyes to the idea, and while bonding with that bunny didn’t work out, he did show that he would possibly do very well with a bunny friend if given time and patience to allow him to adjust.

He’s a very sweet, curious, adventurous and playful little boy. While he does love his snacks, he’s very attention motivated and chooses snuggles and kisses over treats whenever it’s an option.

He is about a 4-5lb little boy, neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped with no health issues.

He was born in the shelter with 9 other siblings; all ten babies and the mama came to us in Dec 2024, a week after they were born, and all would adore having a dedicated space with love and attention just for them.

If you choose to foster, adopt, or foster-to-adopt (the recommended path when you aren’t sure if a bunny is going to be a good fit in your home), it would make a world of difference to these bunnies and the many others in our rescue. We provide all supplies to start and support you throughout their lifetime with any issues that arise. Our goal is to find loving homes for each of these buns and help keep them there through education, training, resources and more.

If you’re interested, please apply on our Linktree (link in our bio, or navigate directly to https://linktr.ee/2rabbitrescue). If you have questions, reach out anytime via comments or DM 👋

P.S. see the cute little bunny in the background? That’s .bunny who he was staying with for this past week. Be sure to follow his account to see Zion’s adventures in finding a bunny friend of his own 💕

Pet insurance & financing aren’t one-size-fits-all. Coverage, costs, reimbursement rates, & exotic pet eligibility can vary significantly between providers & states. Always do your own research, read fine print, bring questions directly to either the insurance company &/or your veterinarian before enrolling. 🐾

Unexpected veterinary emergencies can happen to any pet owner. 🏥 Having a plan in place—whether it be pet insurance, financing, or both—can make it easier to focus on your rabbit’s care instead of the cost in an emergency. 🐰
