A big thank you to our friends at who donated air purifiers to our partner the Boys and Girls Club of Estrada Courts! These will provide much needed clean air to the children and elderly community members who rely on the Clubhouse for essential services daily, as Boyle Heights continues to recover from the recent warehouse fire. We are Boyle Heights strong 💪

The 2025–2026 LAUSD robotics season is a wrap!

Across LAUSD, 63 teams and nearly 1,000 students stepped up to the challenge; designing, building, and competing in this year’s FIRST Tech Challenge.

But this program is about more than robots.

It’s about skills, confidence, and discovering what’s possible.

This is what access to STEM looks like.

At the LAUSD FIRST Tech Challenge District Championship, students from across the district came together to showcase the robots, engineering portfolios, and ideas they’ve been developing all season. 💡⚙️

The championship event brought together 24 teams competing, presenting to judges, and testing their designs in real-time matches.

Between the pits, practice fields, and cheering crowds of friends and family, the day was filled with energy, collaboration, and pride.

Congratulations to all the teams who made it to this incredible milestone! 🦾✨

At the North Regional Robotics Tournament, students came together not just to compete, but to challenge themselves, support one another, and bring their ideas to life. The room was filled with focus, excitement, and pride. These moments that remind us why access to STEM education matters.

Meet Heidy Barrera 🎓✨

An Class of 2021 alumna, Heidy recently graduated from with a B.S. in Data Science and a minor in Food Systems and now works as an IT Specialist at the university.

From interning at Liminal Insights to advocating at the intersection of technology, education, and accessibility, Heidy’s journey shows what’s possible when students are supported long after high school.

With i.am College Track, we’re committed to expanding access to education and real-world opportunities so scholars like Heidy can lead, innovate and thrive.
