We are proud to announce that it is expanding its global presence to the, bringing the Equality Moonshot to one of the world’s most influential cultural stages.

Storytelling shapes culture. Culture shapes society. And society shapes opportunity.

Yet women remain significantly underrepresented across the global film industry:
• Women directed only approximately 16% of the top 250 grossing films globally in recent years
• Less than one-third of speaking roles in film are held by women
• Female filmmakers continue to receive a fraction of major production financing worldwide
• Women of color remain among the most underrepresented voices in global cinema leadership

At the same time, research consistently shows that films with diverse leadership and inclusive storytelling drive stronger audience engagement, broader market reach, and long-term cultural impact. Representation is not just a social issue — it is an economic and creative imperative.

As we expand to Venice, our mission is clear:
To elevate women filmmakers, creators, innovators, and cultural leaders who are redefining the future of storytelling across borders.

Cinema has the power to challenge stereotypes, influence generations, and create empathy at scale. In a time when the world is facing division, displacement, and growing inequality, women’s voices in media and storytelling are more essential than ever.

In an era of exponential technology and AI, investing in women storytellers is no longer optional — it is essential. The stories shaping the future of humanity cannot be built from one lens alone. Women bring perspective, empathy, creativity, courage, and truth that the world urgently needs.

From filmmakers and journalists to founders, artists, and changemakers, Cannes became a global reminder that representation is not just visibility — it is influence, power, and legacy.
