This year the California Firefighters Memorial honors five of our LAFD heroes. Mark Martinez, Gustavo Perez, Ramon Carrasco, Don Forrest, and Jerry Brakeman will be memorialized on the California Fire Foundation's memorial wall, a well-deserved honor. Stay tuned for more details.

The California Firefighters Memorial Ceremony will be held Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 3:00 PM at the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center in Sacramento.

It was a day of fun, education and remembrance for some of our surviving families as our Family Support Group brought them together for the first-ever "Academy Day" at Fire Station 81. Those in attendance tried on turnouts, got tours of the station and the apparatus, and kids participated in firefighter drills. Watch the video as our families enjoy themselves and learned about the jobs of the loved ones they lost.

It was a beautiful day for our surviving families to visit Fire Station 49 to build their fireboat Legos! The crew was incredible with their guests and definitely threw in some bonus experiences! We are grateful to all our supporters who make special trips like this possible for our families. 🚒⛴️🐠
