Our sweet sheep had their hair done today. 🐑✂️
I wonder if they kind of feel like celebrities because the glam squad comes to them? These are the things I ponder.
Keeping our animals comfortable as the weather changes, and as our climate changes, is something we have to factor into our lives constantly. As the planet gets warmer, some of the practices around the Sanctuary will have to shift too, including things like when and how often we shear.
Climate change is scary. I’d be lying if I said it doesn’t take over a pretty large part of my brain sometimes. Where could we live that’s safer from wildfires? Where is there a cooler climate without moving somewhere that I’m shoveling snow six months out of the year? Where could 137 animals actually be safe?
Just picture a cartoon version of me with little birds flying in frantic circles around my head. That’s pretty much what’s happening up there at all times.
Unfortunately, the birds do not clock out when I’m supposed to be sleeping. 😂
Anyway, the sheep look fabulous.
