Ted Atkatz Percussion Seminar

Ted Atkatz Percussion Seminar TAPS is an international music non-profit based in Los Angeles, California Our faculty will each give master classes, performances, and private lessons.

TAPS is an educational institution for percussionists, covering a wide variety of musical styles, instruments, and approaches. Group lessons take place throughout each seminar, with faculty members pairing up to work with each student. Students will participate in percussion ensemble rehearsals, and public performances. Students will have an opportunity to get to know our faculty through working together, but also through shared meals and social outings.

Doing committee work: I was joined by Joel Biedrzycki at TAPS Tokyo which concluded yesterday. Joel is now Principal Timpanist / Percussionist with the Nagoya Philharmonic. Our mock audition winners took home prizes from Zildjian Company, Black Swamp Percussion, bluemallet(ブルーマレット) and Vic Firth. Congrats to our winner and TAPS Studio alum, Christian Moreno, currently studying at DePaul University.
