The purpose of Barrio Music Organization is to support the advancement of music education to neighborhoods which in turn lessens neighborhood tensions, combats community deterioration, combats juvenile delinquency, and unites members of a community for a common good. Barrio Music Organization's vision is to help students achieve their fullest potential educationally, musically, and socially while
enriching their lives and making a positive influence within their families and communities. Our vision includes an opportunity for personal growth intellectually, spiritually, socially, and professionally. Barrio Music Organization was founded on the belief that music plays an integral part in the formation of a well-rounded individual. The study of music brings many benefits and promotes happiness to the lives of those who play it and to those who listen. Music teaches and helps build leadership skills such as: time management, organizational skills, perseverance, discipline, responsibility, communication, acceptance, pride, social skills, and provides a sense of community. Barrio Music Organization is composed of a community of people such as: students, parents, family members, teachers, musicians, volunteers, financial supporters, and audience members joined to build stronger communities through music.
