The President's Birthday Bash!!

Now It's a Tradition!
Join us for the 2nd Annual Celebration

The North Central Los Angeles (NCLA) Chapter of Organizing for Action (OFA) invites you to a celebration. Thanks to a lot of hard work, more than 8 million people signed up for coverage on the health insurance marketplace. That is something to celebrate!

To mark President Obama's birthday, NCLA is holding a party, at the historic Susana Machado Bernard House near MacArthur Park, to celebrate the millions of Americans whose lives are better because of health care reform. You'll also get a sense of how we got our message out to increase the number of enrollees, sharing our personal stories through traditional and social media and learn a little more about OFA and who we are.

Now called Casa Libre (Freedom House), the Susana Machado Bernard House is one of only a handful of private residences completed by renowned architect John Parkinson (City Hall, Union Station) This home currently serves as a long-term shelter for homeless boys under the age of 18, with one of a kind services for undocumented immigrant youth; A border crisis that is front and center in Los Angeles. I hope you will join us.

There will be a tour of this fabulous 35 room residence from 6:30 to 7:00pm by the one who knows it best, the Director of Casa Libre, Federico Bustamante.

Program will begin at 7:15.

Refreshments will be served. If you're in the mood could you bake some homemade cookies? or whatever your specialty! It's a potluck dessert party.

Dear Friend,
We’d like to invite you to an exciting and important event this upcoming Tuesday evening. Organizing for Action supporters, volunteers, alumni, and staff will be gathering with Executive Director, Jon Carson in Hollywood at Club Tempo.

We know that you’re well aware of the important work that OFA does nationwide, but especially here in California. Since its inception this past Spring, OFA California has hosted hundreds of events statewide that provoked conversation and inspired Key Members of Congress to support the agenda Americans voted for in November of 2012.

In order for us to not only continue but expand our efforts on issues you care about, such as the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, Gun Violence Prevention and supporting the Middle Class, OFA California needs resources, and every dollar earned at this event will stay in state for more staff, office space and supplies.
That’s what this evening is all about---celebrating the great work we are doing together and making a commitment to do what it takes to own a part of the groundbreaking work that we’re doing to move our country forward.

At the end of the event we will have a sign-making party as POTUS will be coming to Los Angeles on Tuesday, August 6th for an appearance on the JAY LENO SHOW. As you know, there are usually lots of dissenters in the crowd and we want to make sure our voices are heard loud and clear. We want to show huge support so the narrative of his trip does not become about protestors who show up.

WE NEED BODIES at locations still to be determined with signs for visibility and counter any protestors who come out because of his visit. WHO'S IN???
We need to show strong support for the President's economic plan for for the middle class and show support for CIR (Immigration), GVP (Gun Violence), ACA (Health Care) and Climate.
