It is with a sad heart that I inform you that my father, Christo Pulos, passed away tonight.
At the age of 85, Christo Enlisted in the Air Force in 1949 and achieved the rank of Tech Sergeant before being commisioned in 1956.
He was stationed with the 79th Fighter Squadron working on F-100s at RAF Woodbridge. He, my mother Micki, and my two brothers, Dean and Dan, loved their time in England and my parents forged life long friendships with some of the most amazing people.
After their time in England, my father was assigned to Castle AFB with the 456th Fighter Intercept Squadron and their F-106's. After the 456th's William Tell Victory in 1961, he was transferred to Wright-Patterson AFB with a stop at Oklahoma State University to get his degree in Electrical Engineering. While at WPAFB, my father was with the F-15 program from 1968 and served as the Chief of Avionics until his retirement as a Lt. Colonel in 1973. My father loved being an "Eagle Hatcher" and to the very end he was so very proud of this Air Superiority Fighter and the men and women who maintain and fly this incredible aircraft.
After retirement, he went to work with Hughes Aircraft Company where he worked on several radar and missile programs and was instrumental in the development of the AIM-120 AMRAAM. The F-15 and the AMRAAM...A deadly Combination.
Upon his retirement from Hughes, Christo dedicated his life to his family and his church.
He passed peacefully with his family at his side. My father is survived by his three sons, Dan, Dean and Chris, 9 Grand Children and 3 Great Grand Children.
He left us to join his beloved wife of 63 years, Micki.
