The Bob Baker Marionettes, in addition to their live performances, have appeared in many motion pictures and on frequent television shows. They have pioneered an old form of "theater in the round" which allows the puppeteers to perform their wizardry in full view of everyone. The audiences are able to enjoy the antics and intricacies of the skilled and beautifully executed marionettes in an intima

te form... all of which has become a timeless and culturally celebrated living theater for all ages.

One of Choo Choo R***e's breakout stars, Birdtrude Russel, is now up for adoption! Your days won't be blue with this lovable feathered friend.

When you adopt a puppet, you receive:
🪺 a personalized adoption certificate/letter
🪺 a photo of your puppet
🪺 and a meet-and-greet with your puppet pal! (Our puppets have to stay in the theater because they are very busy with shows, but you are more than welcome to email us and set up a time to say hello and take a photo!)

One of our newest puppets at BBMT is the very lovable Birdtrude!

Take a peek behind the curtain at how this felt-feathered friend made it from concept design to flying across the stage. Birdtrude's felt pattern and stringing are an homage to other BBMT puppets—like our Crow in Something to Crow About, and her Choo Choo R***e co-stars the Trees on Skis! Her pink country western outfit is sported on a Bauhaus-inspired body shape.

Look out world, Bigfoot's stepping into the spotlight! 🌲

One of the brand new puppets created for Choo Choo R***e, this lovable creature was brought to life in the BBMT workshop—from concept design to head sculpting to the stage! Sporting approximately 90 yards of fringe, which is 5 lbs on its own, Bigfoot is one of our heaviest puppets yet.

There’s nothing simple about the stringing this Sasquatch! Kevin Beltz, Technical Director and Head of Puppet Fabrication, writes:

“Bigfoot’s stringing is interesting because he doesn't have a central balance point like most of our puppets—his head is pushed forward on his body. Most puppets have a balanced natural pose...but Bigfoot relies on multiple stringing positions to be properly balanced. It made his stringing much more complicated.”
