4GOOD Los Angeles based non-profit helping busy families easily locate and particpate in volunteer activities. join the movement...volunteer with your kids!!!

Living and bringing up children in the sometimes overly ostentatious city of LA, 4GOOD wants to help parents teach their kids the importance of giving back. That ones measure of success is not only in what you do for a living, but more so in what you do when you ARE living. Help us lead by example while together as a civic minded community we come together and actively participate by taking time t

o give back with our kids by our side.

4GOOD believes that while there has been a huge movement emphasizing volunteerism, there is still a missing link; to include the kids even the youngest ones. By participating in the events found and created by 4GOOD, parents can show their children the values of kindness, compassion, tolerance, community responsibility and good citizenship while spending time together as a family. Research shows that children whose parents set the example of giving back and provide volunteer opportunities are 2 times more likely to volunteer as adults than children who are not exposed.

“The best part is watching the kids see first hand, how important it is to give back! It gives them a whole new perspective on what’s important and we feel that we are helping to create a community of future “do-GOOD-ers”! Hopefully we are empowering them to continue to do GOOD for the rest of their lives. It's been an amazing journey and we hope to continue to build the 4GOOD community so more families will be inspired to give back!” says Erika Athanas, co-founder and executive director of 4GOOD.

The boy who received my son’s heart died Tuesday, although he wasn’t really a boy any longer. He was 37 years old. But when my 7-year old son, Nicholas, was shot in an attempted carjacking on a family vacation in Italy, Andrea Mongiardo was just 15.

Hi everyone...unfortunately we are unable to help facilitate adopting families this year for our friends at Friends & Helpers
Check out their website and contact them to help!
http://www.friendsandhelpers.org/

Our goal is to provide support, education and encouragement for domestic abuse victims who have fled to a shelter or group home for safety. All of whom are trying to help themselves out of a violent, hurtful situation by receiving counseling, job training, financial planning and life skills.

Adam Krief is a 31 year old father of 3 from L.A. who is fighting a rare life-threatening blood disease. He badly needs a life-saving bone-marrow match. Can you help? Please stop by our offices on Monday, September 26 from 10 am - 1 pm. Volunteers will simply take a swab of your cheek to see if you're a match. Donors must be between 18-60 and in general good health. BTW: If you're a match, donating marrow is usually (80% of the time) as simple and painless as donating blood. We're at 6111 Melrose in LA. If you can come, please contact [email protected]. We really hope you can. We're happy to be working with Gift of Life Marrow Registry on this. Please share!
