Southern California Youth Travel Foundation The world is your classroom... go out and learn! Many students aren't able to travel due to funds. We want to help!

International travel develops a greater understanding of cultures, more knowledge of history, and a tolerance for difference. Scholarship Opportunities: Multiple scholarships will be awarded each year. Some scholarships will be based on financial need, while others will be based on participation in community service. Eligibility requirements for all scholarships:

- Students must be in grades 4-12


- Must be a paid member of SCYTF
- Has participated in at least 2 events for SCYTF
- Submit an essay detailing what the program would mean for them
- Demonstrate financial need and/or complete community service
- Letters of recommendation

How are you fundraising for your travel program? Here are some ideas for Valentine's Day. Take orders and sell some goodies. Chocolate covered pretzels rods, oreos, and rice treats are super easy, yummy, and very profitable. Check out this ideas. Ask parents and teachers of elementary school-aged kids. They may want to get a whole class set.

Fall is the best time for fundraising!! So many holidays to work with! Here are a few ideas:
1) Decoration help and cleap up! Charge a fee for helping with setting up and taking down Halloween and Christmas decorations and lights.
2) Sponsorship letters - Send letters to family friends and and ask for the gift of sponsorship instead of Christmas gifts.
3) Gift wrapping service - Contact a local mall shopping center, popular store and ask them if you can set up a table. Have information about your trip and you may get more donations than your per present suggestion.
4) Babysitting - Offer your babysitting services on popular days such as the day after Thanksgiving, the weekend before Halloween, New Year's Eve, or other days that parents often struggle to find help on.
