Our TechHire fellows had an opportunity to attend and experience the unique opportunity of Data Con LA, the largest data conference in Southern California. Spearheaded by Subash D’Souza and organized and supported by a community of volunteers, sponsors and speakers, Data Con LA featured the most vibrant gathering of data and technology enthusiasts in Los Angeles. Tax season is over, but we want to make sure everyone in our network knows that it’s not too late for people to receive the California Earned Income Tax Credit ( ), and that free help is available for those who still need to file their taxes.

To get a CalEITC refund, people have to file an income tax return. Many eligible workers may not be planning to file one because their income-level doesn’t require that they do. Let them know that they could be leaving money on the table!

Please share this important news with your family, friends and loved ones. Make sure to let them know that they can still claim the credit even if they’ve already filed their taxes by filing an amendment, and the Cal EITC can be claimed throughout the year.
