Fred Fairbairn has always put his family first and made many sacrifices to raise his children. All though he has never been a wealthy man he has always been incredibly giving and compassionate to those around him. In the months leading up to March of 2014 Fred developed a lump in his neck. Unfortunately that lump was a tumor. He was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma Cancer. After many tests i
t was discovered that the cancer has spread into his lymph system. We had to move him down to California to get treatment at the UCLA cancer center. He has started chemotherapy and will soon be starting radiation as well. Since Fred is living on a limited fixed income it has been very tough on his family to help with all of the medical expenses. Starting in mid June he will have to go to UCLA 5 days a week, which is about a 2 hour round trip drive from where he is staying. The cost of gas, parking, copay's and prescriptions is getting to be too much for us to handle on our own. It has come to a point where we will either need to raise money or he will have to get rid of his apartment back in Washington. Even though it is just an apartment, my Dad really looks forward to going home. With him fighting for his life, the last thing I want to do is have to get rid of the place he calls home and so anxiously wants to return to. We really need everyone who knows Fred to rally together to help come up with the extra dough so we can keep his home!! If you have the ability to give we would really appreciate it. Please help Fred in his journey to beat cancer. He needs all the love and support he can get at this point!! Thanks to everyone who is coming together for my Dad, it means more to us then you will ever know!!
