This summer, our volunteers have shown that giving back to your community can take many forms! 💙

At our Wilmington Clubhouse, Aidan Fang, a Palos Verdes High School senior, stepped up to help lead training for our site managers, teaching a new volunteer platform and offering one-on-one support to anyone eager to learn. Throughout the summer, he worked alongside our BGCLAH Resource Development team to help launch a new volunteer platform within our organization. 🙋‍♀️

With more volunteers than ever, we needed a smarter way to connect them with our mission. Now, thanks to Aidan, onboarding, scheduling, communication, and tracking are all in one place, so every volunteer can make the biggest difference for our Club kids! 📆

“This experience has taught me about teamwork, leadership, and the importance of giving back to my community,” Aidan said.

And at our Harbor Gateway Clubhouse, BGCLAH intern Ryan Tran is making a difference every day with the youth we support every day. Whether he’s helping our Club members tackle their homework or bringing energy to every dodgeball game, Ryan’s enthusiasm is contagious. Our Club kids light up when he’s around, and that should say it all! ⛹️‍♀️

Aidan and Ryan, thank you for bringing your passion and heart to our BGCLAH family. We are so grateful to have amazing volunteers like you in our corner, helping our kids achieve great futures every day! 🙌💙

Join us for State of the Clubs 2026!

Here’s what an afternoon at the Club holds: homework help and tutoring, guitar in the Music Studio, a drill team running its routine at one of our school sites, seniors working through college applications.

And what does it take to make that possible? Staff who are there every day, volunteers who give up their weekday afternoons, and people across the Harbor who keep the doors open.

On Friday, October 30, State of the Clubs brings all of it into one room for one morning. Come see what a year of afternoons added up to, and what it will take to keep them coming.

Breakfast is at 8:00 AM at the Crowne Plaza Los Angeles Harbor Hotel. It’s free, seats go to the first 100, and registration closes Wednesday, October 28.

We know that a Club kid’s future isn’t built at a gala or a graduation. 👩‍🎓

It’s built over hundreds of afternoons; in rooms alongside friends and caring Club staff who mentor and help guide them to success. 💙

You get to see the big nights, but you almost never get never see those afternoons.

That’s why State of the Club exists. The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Los Angeles Harbor serves 2,700 youth a day in our local communities, throughout 26 sites across San Pedro, Wilmington, Harbor City, Harbor Gateway, and Lomita.

For one morning, State of the Clubs puts it all in one room: the stories, the faces and the numbers behind a year of afternoons, and the people it will take to keep them coming. ☀️

Join us for State of the Clubs on October 30th, 2026! Visit the link below to register!

The day is almost here! Our 12th Annual Día de los Mu***os celebration is close! 💀🌼

Although our Día de los Mu***os celebration is in three weeks, our Keystone teens from across our Clubs and Schoolsites gathered last week to continue it's planning, and they’re already starting the artwork and displays!

But there’s still plenty to do left! This year’s celebration will feature vendors, performances, an art display, and, for the first time, a Catrina Costume Contest. 🎭

What is Keystone?

Keystone is Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s leadership club for teens ages 14 to 18, built around academic success, career preparation, and community service. Our Keystonians are Harbor teens who lead service for their Clubs and communities, with an adult advisor in their corner! 🙌

Their work goes on display Monday, November 2, at our Wilmington Club. Can’t wait to see you there!

Walking into a room full of people you’ve never met takes nerve, but our Club kids made it look easy. 😎

This past Saturday, October 10, at the 2026 Girls Empowerment Conference, our Club kids spent the day having fun, making friends, and learning to empower themselves through workshops, activities, and speaker sessions. Our Club kids dove in and came home more confident than when they started! 💙

Thank you to our staff for making the trip happen, and to the conference organizers for filling that room! 🚌

A huge thank you to the Harbor Trucking Association and all its member organizations for your incredible generosity and strong support of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Los Angeles Harbor! 🙌💙

This week, HTA rallied its members and community partners for an unforgettable Oktoberfest celebration that supported our mission and gave our Clubs a generous $5,000 gift!

But this partnership is about so much more than a gift. It’s about standing together for the young people and families who call our Harbor communities home.🚢

Partnerships like this open doors for our kids to succeed in school, explore new career paths, build leadership skills, and reach their full potential. Together, we’re helping shape the next generation of leaders and innovators who will drive the future of our Harbor region.

To HTA, thank you for believing in our kids, investing in their futures, and standing with us every step of the way.❤️

We’re proud to partner with you and can’t wait to keep building brighter futures together!

Great Futures Start Here! 💙

Think about the sketchbook you keep closed, or the photos on your camera roll that nobody else has seen yet. Some of the world’s best pieces of art might be yours, they’re just waiting to be discovered. 🎭🎨

Last week, Marymount High School invited us to their service fair this year to share BGCLAH’s volunteer opportunities with their students. But one of them already didn’t need a pitch.

Jaidah Villegas volunteered with us during this year’s Summer Camp, and when the school year started, she just kept coming! She’s been helping spread the word about volunteering at the Club at Marymount High!

It was a pleasure being on Marymount's campus, thank you for having us! And thank you, Jaidah, for the time you give our members.

This month, a group of eighth-grade TikTokers from the National Charity League's Peninsula Chapter spent their first Fun Fest Friday of the school year at our San Pedro Clubhouse with our Club kids! 🙌

They stopped by and brought with them face painting, a fall inspired painting activity, and more for our elementary age Club members! Then they stayed for supper with the kids and closed out the day with a few games of heads up, seven up! 🍁

Our members had a great time with our NCL Peninsula Chapter volunteers and are already looking forward to their next visit! 💙
