✨ Up Close with legendary actor Glynn Turman. He reflects on the time as a teenager when he got serious about life, heard his calling, and seized his passion. Theatre, Film and Television. He’s done it all and STILL going mighty strong. In a career full of accomplishments, on June 24th at our Whitney M Young Jr Awards Celebration, he’ll be honored with our TrailBlazer award. An honor in gratitude for the doors he’s knocked down paving the way for others to follow behind. Glynn has blazed a trail for six decades, working with the finest actors of any distinction, with many owing their success to him.

Glynn’s own uncertainty as a teenager, serves as today’s inspiration for him to work with youngsters still on rough footing trying to find that proper trail. Through our partnership with Butterfli, the Los Angeles Urban League is helping expand access to safe, reliable transportation for people with disabilities across Los Angeles County.

Access for All (AFA) is a state-funded program that makes on-demand rides—including wheelchair-accessible vehicles—more available through services like Uber and Lyft. For many, it means getting to work, medical appointments, school, and daily life with dignity and independence.
