What a week at SXSW London!

From meeting our collaborators and friends at , and the to some brilliant showcases from the British Music Embassy, and so much more, it was a week of incredible music and partnership. We were really proud to be able to welcome some of our community at our Wednesday mixer.

Seeing so much South Asian talent was a huge highlight:

The inaugural .sxsw brought together community, culture and music in a mixture of celebration and a call to action. We absolutely loved it.

Seeing .music showcase such a brilliant artist lineup was also amazing, as they took over the iconic Village Underground.

We’re excited to announce that the winner of our SXSW Platinum Pass is Ridwan (Ray) Shakib!

Ray is a Bangladesh-born creative producer, artist programmer and community builder based in Bristol. Ray co-founded grassroots venue Club395 and The Bristol Creative Co, building spaces for global-majority, q***r and emerging artists to find their feet. Their work sits right where grassroots music, DIY infrastructure and community meet - and we’re so excited for them to be at SXSW London.

Ray is a Bangladesh-born creative producer, artist programmer and community builder based in Bristol. They co-founded grassroots venue Club395 and The Bristol Creative Co, building spaces for global-majority, q***r and emerging artists to find their feet. Huge news! We’ve been working with The Kindness Forecast who have gifted us a single SXSW London Platinum Pass. Yes, the full access pass worth £1,560. Every gig, every headline event, every film, every panel, all six days.

SXSW London takes place between 1st to 6th June in Shoreditch, and we would love to give it away to a member of the Lila community!

This month has been one of our favourite in recent memory for South Asian events, across music, advocacy and community 🩵

The Royal Albert Hall to a permit room, an orchestra from Chennai to Brick Lane takeovers. Industry infrastructure being built, South Asian women being centred, music being shared The abundance is clear, but it’s even clearer that there’s so much work still to do.
