I just received some very exciting news! Burgers and Bibles was just awarded "The Best of Los Angeles Award" for "The Best Homeless Outreach Charity" category!!!!
As many of you know, I started Burgers and Bibles at the young age of 21 shortly after I moved to Los Angles from Chicago. With nothing but a dollar and a vision from God we set out to to love, inspire, feed and change the lives of the homeless. We did so in hopes of rehabilitating them from the streets of Skid Row and putting a dent in ending homelessness for good! We wanted to make a difference and feed not only their body but their spirit and soul. I wanted to remind them of who they were, connect them with God and purpose and give them the support and tools they needed to rise of of poverty. 5 years and over 30,000 meals later, I never would've imagined that, that little vision from God would end up being named the Best in the city! Not just any city, but Los Angeles California! Many people discouraged me, tried to talk me out of it or worried for my safety but I never stopped trusting God. Gods plan for your life is the best plan. It's better than anything we could ever think of. Say yes to his plan and watch what happens! I am forever grateful for the miracles he works in my life everyday! I'm beyond blessed and thankful for my business partner who believed in that vision. Burgers and Bibles wouldn't be possible without you, ! Thank you Matt and all of the board members and volunteers who makes Burgers and Bibles what it is!
