Weโ€™re celebrating some exciting news at WHAA today! โœจ White Hall Arts Academy Foundation has been selected by the Perenchio Foundation to receive a multi-year General Operating Support Grant!

Support like this gives us the ability to keep doing what matters most: providing accessible, high-quality arts experiences for our community, while building the capacity we need to thrive.

Every art form has its foundations, and music is no different. ๐ŸŽต Before musicians can create, perform and express themselves freely, they start with understanding the building blocks of how music works:

โ€ข Pitch: how high or low a sound is
โ€ข Rhythm: the pattern of sound and silence (the beat that makes you tap your foot!)
โ€ข Melody: a sequence of pitches that forms the tune you hum
โ€ข Harmony: multiple pitches sounding together to add depth
โ€ข Dynamics: how soft or loud the music is
โ€ข Tempo: the speed of the music
