"Today, more than 278,000 California students go to school each day with the glasses they need to succeed. Vision To Learn is thrilled to work alongside Senator Allen to ensure access to basic, yet critical, eye care for kids."

Last week, our mobile clinic pulled into the parking lot of the Powder Springs Library in Cobb County Georgia and our team provided free, comprehensive eye exams and glasses to children at no cost to their families.

Kids got to personally pick out their own very "fashionable" and "stylish" frames. In four to six weeks, those glasses come back to the library and the children and their parents pick them up.

Vision To Learn's optician James Brooks said it best: "They don't even know there's leaves on the trees."

In Georgia, we are partnering with libraries across Cobb, Gwinnett, Clayton, Fulton, Henry, and Douglas Counties this summer.

A wonderful community effort is underway in Cobb County today to ensure local students have the clear vision they need to succeed both inside and outside the classroom. The national nonprofit organization Vision To Learn has rolled its specialized mobile clinic into the parking lot of the Powder Spr...

Meet Maxwell.

Like millions of children across the country, Maxwell was struggling in school — not because he wasn't trying, but because he couldn't see. An undetected vision problem was quietly standing between him and the education he deserved. His family, like so many in underserved communities, didn't have easy access to affordable eye care.

That changed when Vision To Learn came to his school.
CBS News Atlanta followed Maxwell's story — and it's one we hope you'll watch and share. It's a window into what happens when a child finally gets the glasses they need to read, to learn, and to believe they can keep up with their classmates.

Maxwell's story is why we do this. Watch it. Share it. And help us reach every child who's been waiting to see clearly.

The Atlanta nonprofit and the Hawks have donated thousands of free glasses and eye exams at schools and libraries across the metro area.

Yesterday, Senator Ben Allen named Vision To Learn the 2026 California Nonprofit of the Year — and we couldn't be more grateful.

This recognition speaks to a simple but urgent truth: millions of children in underserved communities across California and the country are struggling in school not because of a lack of effort or intelligence, but because they can't see. An undetected vision problem is one of the most common — and most treatable — barriers to learning. Vision To Learn's mobile clinics go directly to schools, providing free vision screenings and glasses to children who need them most, at no cost to families.

What started as a partnership with LA Unified School District has grown into a national program now operating in 15 states. To date, we've reached more than 3.8 million children with screenings and helped over 650,000 get the glasses they need to read, learn, and thrive.

Thank you, Senator Allen, for championing the children of California and for this extraordinary honor. And thank you to everyone — donors, partners, volunteers, and school communities — who make this work possible every single day.

Vision To Learn was honored to be The C.H.I.P.S.’ 2026 Charity Partner alongside Altadena Girls (and the amazing Avery Colvert!) at a beautiful event last night where an incredible group of Angelenos came together for children in Inglewood and Lawndale who need glasses and don’t have them.

Here’s the reality: 1 in 4 children need glasses. Among the children we serve in high-need schools, 9 out of 10 who need glasses don’t have them. That means children sitting in classrooms every day unable to see the board, read a book, or participate in class — not because they’re struggling, but because they simply cannot see.

Thanks to The C.H.I.P.S., that’s changing. By the end of this school year, over 1,100 children across 12 Inglewood schools will have glasses for the first time.

A 2nd grader named Josia said it perfectly. When he got his first pair of glasses in February, he looked out the window and shouted:

“It’s raining, I can see it! Thank you!”

To The C.H.I.P.S. and everyone who joined us last night — thank you for your continued commitment to changing the lives of kids like Josia. 🙏

Ten years ago, Vision To Learn pulled a mobile clinic up to Lincoln Elementary in Dubuque and provided eye exams to 8 children. Six received their first pair of glasses.

Yesterday, we returned to the same school — and gave 23 more kids their first pair. That's 70 kids provided with glasses at Lincoln this schoolyear.

That's 23,000 pairs of glasses across Iowa since that first day. 42 school districts. 19 counties. All at no cost to the child or their family.

A decade of gratitude to: ✅ Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque ✅ Delta Dental of Iowa Foundation ✅ United Way of Central Iowa ✅ United Way of the Quad Cities ✅ Theisen's Home Farm Auto

An estimated 30,000 Iowa kids are still in classrooms without the glasses they need. Our work continues.
