PROGRAM SPOTLIGHT: InARTSeration ❤️🖤

What happens when you take the arts beyond traditional walls and bring creativity directly to people where they are?

InARTSeration.

InARTSeration was created from our belief that the arts should be accessible to ALL—regardless of someone’s circumstances, environment, or access to traditional arts spaces.

Through Hip-Hop Dance, Acting, Playwriting, Vocal Art, and other forms of creative expression, we create spaces where participants can move, create, express, connect, and discover something within themselves.

And sometimes, it’s about much more than learning an art form.

In challenging environments, the arts can become a space for healing, reflection, connection, and transformation. Creativity gives people an opportunity to step outside of what’s happening around them—even if only for that moment—and experience what’s possible through movement, words, music, performance, and imagination.

Over the years, InARTSeration has taken LQ’s into spaces including the Los Angeles County Jail, and today the work continues in community spaces including Union Rescue Mission, Angeles House, and Willowbrook Library.

Different spaces.
Different communities.
Same belief:

ARTS CHANGE LIVES. ❤️

THIS IS LQ’S. ❤️🖤

If you’ve known LQ’s over the years, you may know us for dance. You may remember a performance, a class, a production, or a moment in the community.

But LQ’s has always been about something bigger.

Since 2004, LQ’s Performing Arts Center has continued to grow, evolve, and find new ways to use the performing arts to reach people where they are.

EMBRACE. ENHANCE. EMPOWER.

Those three words are at the heart of what we do.

Our mission is to embrace, enhance, and empower the community through the performing arts by making the arts accessible to all—from youth and adults impacted by the justice system to professionals and teams seeking creative relief.

Over the years, that work has taken us into classrooms, community centers, shelters, correctional settings, libraries, performance spaces, workplaces, and places we never could have imagined when LQ’s first began.

And we’re still growing. ❤️

So, over the next several weeks, we’re going to take you inside LQ’s—one program at a time. You’ll learn more about what we do, who we serve, why these programs were created, and how each one connects back to our belief that:

ARTS CHANGE LIVES.
ARTS SHOULD BE ACCESSIBLE TO ALL.

Some programs you may already know. Others may surprise you.

This is our history.
This is our growth.
This is our work.
This is LQ’s.

👉🏾 Swipe through to get to know us, and follow along as we begin our weekly LQ’s Program Spotlight.

Next week: InARTSeration.
