ildren in need everywhere. Chance to Play 2012 brings together the joy of sports, celebrities and a lot of fun all to benefit children in need here at home and across the globe. Created by Kyle Weiss, the founder of FUNDaFIELD and Ryan Potter, the founder of Toy Box of Hope, Chance to Play is a day of fun, soccer, celebrities, good times and entertainment for two very good causes. FUNDAFIELD
Started by Weiss, FUNDaFIELD builds fields in poverty-stricken, often war-torn, countries where many of the children either have been or are at great risk of becoming child soldiers. The fields become a source of pride for the communities and the children, giving them a place to play safely with their friends as well as providing them an incentive to enroll in and attend school. FUNDaFIELD believes in the power of sports as a form of therapy for kids. TOY BOX OF HOPE
Ryan Potter, known for his role on Nickelodeon’s Supah Ninjas, started Toy Box of Hope to address the ever growing problem of youth homelessness in Los Angeles. Moved by the number of families he saw living on the streets of Los Angeles Ryan wanted to bring the children hope, raise awareness by creating events and as well as raise funds for organizations which are on the frontlines of positive change in the challenging field of youth homelessness. TOGETHER
Both Kyle and Ryan feel there is a natural fit as both organizations try to raise funds and awareness through events and they both rely on grassroots efforts to run their charities and events. So by combining efforts they are able to help children both at home and abroad who are in the greatest need. All funds raised from ticket sales, fundraising efforts, sponsor donations and other sources will go directly to the children both organizations serve. There will be more soccer fields built in Africa thereby increasing school enrollment and attendance in war torn areas. There will be an additional van on the streets of Los Angeles looking for homeless youth to safe shelter. There will be additional equipment, more meals, winter coats, Christmas gifts and many other items of hope and survival that otherwise would not have made it to the hands of so many suffering children. You can make the difference. You can change a child’s life. Come on out to Chance to Play 2012 and see how you can make a difference today. THE EVENT
Chance to Play will be an afternoon of soccer and fun activities held at Cromwell Field on the beautiful centrally located University of Southern California Campus, a world class soccer field. Held on a beautiful summer weekend on August 5th, before school begins, kids and adults alike will have the chance to play soccer with some of their favorite celebrities, play games at the event, purchase raffle tickets to win prizes, enjoy refreshments and make memories for a lifetime, all while helping disadvantaged children here at home and abroad. ON GAME DAY
The event will open in the morning and guests will be able to purchase refreshments, play games, purchase raffle tickets, participate in meet and greets with the celebrities and enjoy a short pre-game show of music and dance. There will be booths for participating charities and sponsors to provide information, samples, discuss and showcase new products or offer guests a fun and interactive experience. The day’s highlight and main event is the celebrity soccer game. Many of the most recognizable teen celebrities from some of today’s most popular shows will be on hand to play with celebrity athletes and other adult celebs from TV, film and sports. Guests who have raised the most funds during the fund-raising drive leading up to the event will join the celebs on the field to play. The local AYSO clubs that raise the most money for the event will lead the “teams” in warm-ups. Celebrity coaches will take the field with their teams and coach them through an afternoon of fun non-competitive play with goofy twists and surprises like water balloon soccer balls and three-legged race soccer. The half time show will feature music, dance, prize raffle, games and sponsor shout outs all led by a celebrity MC. With the beautiful campus as the backdrop to the worthwhile day, this will be a great outing for the entire family. Chance to Play will raise awareness as well as vitally needed funds for both organizations. All participants will make a much needed difference in the lives of thousands of children. THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO PLAY!!
